header pipe?

I'm buying a header pipe then buying the slip on and I wanna know if the fmf power bomb or mega bomb will fit with the stock exhaust. And witch sould I get/ witch is best? Power bomb or mega bomb? And my bike is a 07 wr450f

How much of a stump dent can one get away with prior to it causing perform probs?

A small dimple type dent will not rob any power. A small dent that protrudes approximately 1/2" or more into the exhaust stream will start to effect power. But only you can tell if it's enough to warrant replacement.

If you plan to ride the trails here in Michigan, a YZ pipe will not be legal in the woods. To ride in the woods you will need a spark arrestor AND be able to blow 94 dB or less. A FMF Q pipe will pass the sound limits, has a spark arrestor and has very good power, similar to my old WR426 stock pipe with the exhaust baffle completely removed, completely unrestricted. You can be ticked by the DNR if you are too loud, and you also risk pissing off people who want to take our trails away. If you are MX only, then whichever pipe has the best gains for you and the wallet.

I ride in u.p in the middle of no where basicly and I have never seen DNR ever and iv riddin up there for going on 9 years now and so I'm not really worried about them. So would a yz pipe give me any gains and I ride trail and street cause my bikes legal so strret wise would a yz pipe make the bike way to load for strret use?

n16ht5 did a nice test on the pipes . Be sure to read it. I have seen a lot of OEM and aftermarket pipes. There is nothing that comes close to the fit and finish of the OEM pipes. No matter what you use, changing the stock WR pipe will make it a different machine, I hated mine and was even going to sell it until I switched it out

I'm going with yz system cause I like the idea so save a hole lot of $$$ and getting a better prodoct that's made by yamaha. I read on here that a couple people say the 09 yz headerpipe is the best out of all years. Does the year really have anything to do with how good the pipe is?

go to the x-3 combo closeouts. item 75018.....is an entire system. Header, midpipe, muffler with spark arrestor $239. n16ht5 has a picture of that full system in his write-up. I think he liked the YZ pipe/muffler better....but you cant go wrong for $239 for an entire system. I had this system on my '08 YZ450F and loved it. Quality of the Leo Vince produce is top notch and the OEM heat shield fit perfectly on the Leo Vince combo for my YZ450F.

that is a good price for the LV.The ones I've seen in the past from them looked like they were made well.

As far as year and brand of pipe, you are splitting hairs as far as performance. The most drastic change will be ditching the WR pipe for a Yz or after market.

Our bikes have race engines. Anything you do to calm them down to me makes them run like crap. Let it breath and run like Yamaha designed them for.

The YZ exhaust cam puts the cherry on top.

The LV was great, but with the silent insert you couldn't use the spark arrestor. I could have cut up the spark arrestor and permanently attatched it to the silent insert but I ended up selling it for what I bought it for, I was happy with the 07 YZF pipe, made about the same power and was dirt cheap for when I bash it

do you think the LV system (with spark arrestor and without silent insert) was louder that the Forest Service 96 dB limit? I was thinking that LV claimed it was 94 dB without silent insert....but not really positive. Or, did you just find the LV too loud for your preference?

LV open is 98+db. insert is 94db. the exit diameter of the insert is smaller than the 07yzf
