I dont think they need to redesign that bike... it could work if they did things the right way. They just need to allocate the money and time in a rider that can get it where it needs to be! I think a TOP lites guy like a Baggett, or Wilson, or even a Tomac could be a perfect candidate Rattray would be my first choice since he was avail and fast enough to find the flaws in the bike. They need a guy that can give accurate feedback could develope this bike to get it where it needs to be if Yamaha wanted the bike to move forward.

Only downfall to this is that it would take a long term deal so that rider knew they would be taken care of in the future. It could very well be career suicide to sign on to ride a undeveloped Yamaha for only a year or two.

Yammie is a POS, THeyed have to redo the whole damn frame!

I think you missed the point of my post... I know the bike is a POS. It will remain that way until someone develops it.

No wonder you are confused. You go missing for a while then pop back in commenting on Bultaco's

tell me how to Develop a frame design - a bad design at that? They have to run a stock frame with only extra gussets to beef them up, Yam has to redesign the whole POS!

:) Your still missing the point... They can redesign the frame till they are blue in the face but that doesnt mean it will work. Redesigning the frame will do squat without a team of fast enough guys to tell them what is wrong with it.

Yamaha's have always been middle of the road handling bikes (at best) for as long as I have been riding and reading moto mag tests. The new 450's obviously have issues but the speeds the top guy are riding bring out every fault

James is a crasher but I still think that 450 has problems and it can't be fixed by anyone other than Yamaha
