After countless requests, and tons of support, it looks like the raffle will start real soon. For those of you who may not know the whole story, I was the fortunate winner of the GMBII '04 Yamaha YZ450F. I was going to sell the bike to help defray the medical bills my we are incuring due to my son's autism treatments. After many e-mails, phone calls, etc..We have decided to raffle the bike off once again. The same ground rules will apply for this raffle, as were in the GMBII raffle. 500 tickets will be sold, with the raffle being held later in November. This will be a great opportunity for a great cause. Thanks to everyone who urged me to do this. I know it will be a great success...more to come :)

Mark,
You can count me in for 5.
If you make the maximum 10, I'd even go there also.
Let us know how you'd like to make the arrangements for purchasing.
For those of you who don't believe, or have lost faith, let this auction enlighten you. There has, and always will be a higher power.
I'm glad to see this bike go to such a worthy cause.
Keep me posted,
Kelly

I understood why the 500 tickets had to be sold the first time this bike was raffled, but do all 500 need to be sold the second time?  I can see 300, but 500?  I'm in, but it seems odd because the bike has already been paid for once.  I don't mean in any way to be disrespectful, I'm just questioning for answers, not questioning intentions or values.

I think that is a valid question.

Maybe the raffle shouldn't happen until all of the tickets are sold, but I don't think this "no raffle, no refund" stuff is the best approach especially if you are going to limit the number of tickets a person can purchase AND only provide two weeks or less for the tickets to sell.

Just my opinion.

The purchase of the ticket is going to help fund Jakes Medical needs.  No matter what it is a worthy cause, and Jake is in need of constant Medical attention at a high cost.

Personal opinion here, maybe a post on Jakes Story and a pic would be a good thing to show what this is all about  :)

The main reason I am raffling off the bike is to provide for the ongoing costs for Jake. I was a bit reluctant to even have a raffle, being that there had just been one. After much deliberation over the subject with members of TT, we decided that the raffle should be the same as the previous one. I could sell the bike outright for 6k and I would still be happy that I am helping my son, I have confidence that all 500 tickets will be sold, and if they are not, I will relax the ticket limit. The response so far has been overwhelmingly positive, and I am most appreciative of the generousity that has been shown so far. There is a good chance the raffle will be extended if need be. I really want one of you fellow tt'ers to win this thing! :)

I understand your plight.  I have worked with special kids in athletic competitions and have two very close friends with autistic children.

Don't relax the limit of 500 tickets, that's a good number, but if all 500 are not bought up by November 14th, extend the date, don't sell yourself short.  It is a worthy cause and a very sweet raffle.  It is a win-win situation for all involved.  :)
