Ok I have a 2001 Polaris scrambler 90, it sat for a couple years till my son got big enough to ride it, I replaced the carb, plug, fuel and got it going again
The problem: to get it started when cold I have to cover the inlet to the air box so it will pull enough fuel, I guess the electric choke isn't enough, I've had to restrict the inlet to the air box so it will keep running, once it's warmed up abit I can set the throttle stop just to where it will go with my 54lbs son on it and he rode it around for hours....now if I back the throttle stop out so it will pack me at 200lbs it goes like hell for about 100 yards then dies like its out of gas, I let it sit for a couple minutes fire it up and go let hell for another 100yards then dies, I can keep it running by choking off the airbox inlet alittle but it won't wind high until I let it sit
I don't understand why it's not getting the fuel or why it doesn't seem to be drawing it into the engine???? I'm really at a loss here and getting frustrated my son wants to ride it but I can't figure this thing out, if you have any ideas please by all means...Help!

I feel your pain! We had the same atv with the same problems. I am convinced the automatic choke did not work. I restricted the air and got it running decent. My kids out grew it, and I sold it to a friend. He rebuilt the top end and it seems to run like a champ for his kid. He must be a bettrer mechanic than me, I just learned to live with it. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

get rid of that auto choke and replace it with a manual choke off an E-ton 90 quad . they are almost the same machine except they have a few extra goodies on them. as far as only making it a 100 yards. that problem is the float sticking oradjusted or just needs to be replaced. carbs on ebay are cheep and you can get one already with the manual choke on them if you get one for a e-ton 90 rxl.
