Trigger pulled!!!
I bought the YZ205f in that craigslist add http://austin.craigs...3113914150.html
I went and rode it, HOLY CRAP I am rusty.  Stalled it twice, could barely find neutral, and was a little tentative when I took it for a test ride up and down his block, BUT IT FELT GREAT to be back on a bike. It will all come back pretty quick.  I am going to pick up a trailer hitch and the wiring tomorrow and he is going to deliver the bike to my house tomorrow night since I dont have a trailer yet, and he is only about 5 miles from me.

I also bought some of his old riding gear, a helmet, chest protector, boots and gloves, for an extra $100.
Going to call a guy about a trailer on craigslist tomorrow, if he still has it Ill probably go pick it up this weekend, otherwise next week Ill get one from the local trailer shop.  Which will be expensive, but a VERY solid trailer.  I sort of feel like maybe its worth spending a little more for a rock solid trailer that will do everything I need and more.

Bike is safe and locked up in my garage :)  Pics tomorrow.

I sat trying to start it for like 5 minutes, it would start and die 1 sec in.    Then I figured out I still had the plug in the exhaust.  lol.

Pulled the plug out of the muffler and it started right up.

looks clean.  Nice choice!  yz250f is the only used mx 250 4 stroke I would buy.  Well known for reliability.

Thanks!  I don't think it was so much cleaned up, I think it just never got that dirty to start with.  The inside of the rear fender doesn't look like it got a lot of rocks and such shot up into it, so I can't think its even been ridden that much.  I know the guy I bought it from only rode it once, and the guy that had it before him was an older guy that only ever rode it in one place (this place near me, which I plan on going as soon as I can), and judging how the bike looks, I doubt it was ridden that hard.

I have a couple more ebay auctions ending on Sunday, and I get paid tomorrow night, so I hope to have enough to get my hitch this weekend, get it wired up then get the trailer next Monday or Tuesday.   The DAY I get that squared away, I AM GOING RIDING!  Ok maybe the next day.

I have been fighting the urge to take it for a rip up and down my street.   I got busted for riding a dirt bike on the street twice when I was like 14, I'm sure the fine has only gone UP since then.

Honestly I want to change the oil and flush the fuel tank out first anyway.  It had sat for a while empty, and to get it running to show me we just dumped about half a gallon of the gas for his lawn mower in, so its on 87 octane right now, which is fine, it was never going to be ridden more than a block at low throttle with that fuel in it anyway. I am planning on getting a 5 gallon jug, putting one gallon of C16 in it then filling it up with 4 gallons of 93. That should yield about 95 octane, which should be great for the Texas heat.  I know it would be ok on 93 since its stock, but with it being so hot around here, I figure an extra point or 2 of octane is good insurance against detonation.  And shouldn't screw with the jetting at that low of a mixture. Hopefully.  If it does Ill just go back to straight 93.

I also am going to swing by a shop and see how much they would charge me to set the suspension up for my weight/height and such.  Hopefully not too much.   Trailer and hitch take first priority though.

UPDATE!

I FINALLY after it sitting with no way to get it anywhere for a while, got it out to someplace to ride it. I got a hitch on my car and rented a uhaul trailer on my birthday and went riding, then used the trailer to buy my Harbor Freight trailer (so I could get the boxes home)
I LOVE THIS BIKE.  Its got a ton of low end power, and really I think is pretty smooth. When I stalled it because I did something dumb, it fired back up first kick, even though it was hot.  It rides great and I couldn't be happier.  I was sweating not having the funds for the Rekluse clutch but now I don't feel like I need or really want it. I may get a flywheel weight and eventually once I am riding fast enough a steering stabilizer, but otherwise I don't feel like it needs a thing.

With the exception of the suspension.  I weigh 195-200lbs and the suspension seems to wallow under my weight a little. So I figure Ill get it resprung and have the dampers adjusted by someone who knows what they are doing.  I also think I might take it and have the valves adjusted, then change the oil and such, just so its all fresh.   But I mean right now, it runs and rides great.
