First off, I did search the forums and did not find the answer to my question, but if someone knows where it is just post the link.   Anyway I just "finished" (these projects are never actually done) building my most recent bike.  I have ordered a Main Jet kit and a handfull of different sized pilots which have not arrived yet.  I have done carb tuning on quite a few things ranging from street bikes to go karts to 2 smokers to 4 barrel Rochesters on boats, so I know how to tune a carb.  (which means nobody needs to post the link that manages to get posted every time someone asks a jetting questions)  Currently the stock jets that are in the bike will not allow the bike to rev at wot.  I get about half throttle and it bogs out.  Therefore all i am looking for is what are people running in their VM26-606, their engine/mods, and elevation/location.  I am just looking to get a baseline to start at since it appears that the stock jets are nowhere close (time savings = good).  Below is my current situation:

Engine: Piranha YX140cc
Mods: Stock engine with 32mm Piranha exhaust
Carb: Mikuni VM26-606
Jetting: STOCK, 17.5 Pilot, 97.5 Main, Needle in middle
Location:  New Jersey (US) approx. 900 ft. elevation

I feel my issue may be that i am too lean on the pilot and too rich on the main causing a bog in the mid range where the two overlap and the needle is picking up the slack.  Thanks for the help in advance!!!

From what I've read in other Forums, the optimal range for the VM26-606 is in the #20-#25 pilot jet sizes, and #150-#165 main jet sizes, and tune to your specific area.

FWiW, the SUDCO catalog lists the stock jets for the VM26-606 to be a #22.5 pilot and a #190 main.

interesting... after posting i had to go double check and I actually have  a 97.5 main not a 190.  (guess i saw a 9 and jumped to conclusions)   Also when looking at the jet kits it appears that mine are not the same.  most jet kits come with hex jets for the main and mine are a flat slot... did they design change at some point?  not too familiar with Mikunis
