First off, I did search the forums and did not find the
answer to my question, but if someone knows where it is just post the link. Anyway I just "finished" (these projects are never actually done) building my most recent bike. I have ordered a Main Jet kit and a handfull of different sized pilots which have not arrived yet. I have done carb tuning on quite a few things ranging from street bikes to go karts to 2 smokers to 4 barrel Rochesters on boats, so I know how to tune a carb. (which means nobody needs to post the link that manages to get posted every time someone asks a jetting questions) Currently the stock jets that are in the bike will not allow the bike to rev at wot. I get about half throttle and it bogs out. Therefore all i am looking for is what are people running in their VM26-606, their engine/mods, and elevation/location. I am just looking to get a baseline to start at since it appears that the stock jets are nowhere close (time savings = good). Below is my current situation:
Engine: Piranha YX140cc
Mods: Stock engine with 32mm Piranha exhaust
Carb:
Mikuni VM26-606
Jetting: STOCK, 17.5 Pilot, 97.5 Main, Needle in middle
Location: New Jersey (US) approx. 900 ft. elevation
I feel my issue may be that i am too lean on the pilot and too rich on the main causing a bog in the mid range where the two overlap and the needle is picking up the slack. Thanks for the help in advance!!!
