So i just got my 2012 kx450f yesterday and rode it pretty much all day long yesterday. Today while I was cleaning the bike I noticed that the bottom chain guide is there but the bottom of it has been cut off so it wouldnt rub on the metal. It is the stock chain guide and it still guides the chain it just doesnt support it. I have big plans with the bike this weekend and I really dont want to have to stay off the bike all weekend but i will if I have to. Is it still safe to ride like this for the weekend and maybe a few days after that? I already ordered the tm designworks guide but it wont be here for a while. Sorry if this is a stupid question but I am brand new to this whole dirt bike thing and I really dont want to damage the bike. Thanks

For what it's worth I would stay off of it since it is not being supported by anything.  What for the TM guides...they are worth their weight in gold.  Just my .02

Go to a dealer and get a tm designworks or a cheaper acerbis one. The chain is probably what "cut" the metal chain guide.

I would love to but my dealer doesnt carry anything in stock. I get so annoyed with it, they dont carry anything that I need ever. They didnt even have a dirt bike stand to buy when I needed it. i have to buy everything online and the wait kills me.

Remember that running a dealership is more complicated and expensive than people think and is not comparable to an online warehouse or someone flogging stuff on eBay.
We should support our local dealer as much as we can but hey if your forced to shop to online, chances are that your paying less and learning more about products  by shopping around
anyway!
TM designs do make a great product. I opted for the TM designs slider but the cheaper acerbis guide and both are showing 0 signs of wear after about 8 hours use :)
