Oh yea...have to say after being on the outside looking in to the Husqvarna world, the experience with those folks from South Carolina was an epifany. Didn't expect much from the Husqvarna line because all I've experienced were nice but nothing I would go out of my way for. Prior to this weekend, No one or nothing from inside the Husqvarna world made it interesting enough to even explore the brand. The one fellow from South Carolina listened to my BS....after a test ride and set me up on the right machine....one of the Demo 310's. It was perfect, nothing like what I expected. Couple of clicks less compression in the fork was all to make it something that can get me back on a bike after pain from earlier riding experiences had me quit riding. Here's the point. While I'm a unique animal..so are most others. Having that collection of bikes there along with those three guys gave interested riders an opportunity to hunt thru the product line for something that works without the bias of either a dealer, distributer, or magazine. I would not have considered Husqvarna prior to this weekend because of the combination of riding experiences and sales experiences, now I have to have one.

Thanks for the kind words, but just to be clear....  Husky NA supports the event, but does not sponsor it.  Joe and I pay for.... AMA Sanction, event insurance, T shirts, award plaques and much more out of our pockets and then actually absorb a lot of the cost, so the "pot" for charity or ISDE rider support will be bigger.  You can have a more informal event, but the need for insurance to protect our private landowners has kind of driven the event. NW Gathering in a Public riding area is a completely different animal.

We were grateful that Husky Sales Rep Fred Hoess was able to arrange for the Husky Demo trailer and staff and also provide us with a good bunch of factory swag, along with other support.  Cagiva USA always supported the event, but the previous management at Husky USA did not support the event, so a big thanks to the present management for their support. Thanks to our landowners and all who attended and helped!

Hey Norm, great job as always. You and Joe put on one 1st class event.... Also a BIG THANKS to Walter for making his farm available for the event....  for those that haven't been there... you don't know what you're missing.... this place is a slice of off-road heaven and you're not going to find a nicer place to ride in the North East... fortunately Norm and Joe have access to the farm once a year for their Husky North East Gathering.

Also a big shout out to Husqvarna's NA Northeast Sale Manager Fredd Hoess and everything he did to get BMW's South Carolina's demo team to "Norm and Joe's 6th Annual Husky Northeast Gathering"... It's ground troops like these guys who get things done!

For me.... I missed it yet another year, but fortunately for me my new business as taken off and I'm working seven days a week.

You were just scared someone would have punched you in that big mouth of yours.

Is this yet another new business or you still cleaning up graffiti?

Hope all is well, Glad things are looking up..and also for obviously understanding the landowners better than many as I'm certain it's tough to get riding area's expecially in New Jersey! No places to ride, less reasons to have dirt bikes! If I remember you were active in trying to secure places to ride which makes the off road industry relavent. Also think that one of the solutions executed by a bunch of Jersey guys was to actually buy land in Hancock NY! (not many have the resources to make that work!)....bet there is a natural Gas discussion going on right now!  Equipment expenses, Time, Space utilization (for road, trail and parking) along with Taxes are expenses even before the liability risk do make it tough for those typical farmers/land owner types is my bet. When you can blend those event essentials in with stuff already going on..and have folks like Norm & Gregg Yetsko (Gregg put a LOT of trail time in too) who understand an operation do the event layout and help maintain trails, things are easier. Thankyou to all those land owners out there who keep this sport alive, especially in the North East!...For me these typical Husqvarna enthusiasts are an exceptional group, also I appreciate the fact that Joe and Norm have developed connections to several riding area's that makes these events possible. Combined with those guys from South Caroline this added up to a wonderfull weekend for me.. So  Thanks again and please keep things moving along in the riding world Joe, Norm, Gregg and yes Dale too. (Its tough building things from scratch)

Bottom line? A small group of self starter/enthuiastic motorcycle riders made this happen, not the dealer/sales types...although they certainly have enhanced these events, so thanks for their support as well. You guys else where can do the same....

I've not been to a more professionally run event.  Everyone was friendly and helpful and it was clear an enormous amount of work went into the planning and implementation.  Getting the Husky demo team was an amazing cherry on the sundae and I for one am grateful for the opportunity to attend and help if I can.

Thanks again to all who worked to make this such a success!

His point (humor?) was if Dale rather sand blast old buildings on a100 degree days than go to an event.....well maybe the event wasn't so good....

It was a good event! with a great location and some very nice east coast folks... me... I would  have been there, but this is a  very good  client who is on a compressed deadline and he pays me a lot of money... so he can make a lot of money when he finishes the  project on time.

Anyway It's all good... sorry I missed it..

First, this is about the husky north east gathering and it's put on by a group of great guys who have been part of the Husqvarna community longer than any of the Corona Clown posers.... So let's keep thread focused.

Secondly this is the original Husqvarna gathering which has been going on for years now, not some small event with a lot of hype were 20 guys show up with a dealer and a handfull of bikes.

Thirdly Husqvarna and BMW are sending the Husqvarna Demo truck along with their best rep in north America .. (he's also there fastest husqvarna employee and one of the fastest riders in north America.)

Great event, put on by a bunch of great guys who get what Husqvarna is all about.., not a bunch of posers.

There... Said it!

Was the previous north east rep terrible ?

No he wasn't bad. Just bad management above him. Our new north east rep is real good and also happens to be Husqvarna North America's fastest employee racer. He has something like 16 or 17 ISDE medals and again will be at the six days in 2013.

He's very competent And dedicated to the Husqvarna brand... Hopefully he doesn't get job burnout.

And no I don't know him personally but know what he's done over the years.
