There aren't any. Just "BNG".

They are bringing back the 739 tire for increased tire wear and decreased traction.

I kept an old 739 for a while. I was going to use it to set wheels on while I changed tires, but I couldn't keep it from sliding all over the floor while I worked....

Sadly with the current lack of availability of the 403 at my local shop (RideMX), and preferring to buy from my local shop I was in a pinch last week and threw on a 739 that came on one of our bikes. It has been sitting in the garage for a while. I rode the Pala Main track with it last weekend. It was OK, but not near the bite in the corners that a fresh 403 provides. If I decide to ride down the road or hit up some blue-grooved tracks I am all set though.

rumor rumor rumor...from BTO sports podcast...(validity unkown) that if Yamaha/JGR can sign a top named rider like Dean WIlson, part of the carrot will be bike changes for 2014....(since this current gen Yamaha is getting such a bad rap with all top pros)

Transworld hinted that the 450f and 250f will be all new for 2014.

I don´t think Dean Wilson have such a hughe impact on the Yamaha factory in Japan actually.

Yamaha´s plan has mostly been 3-4 years between big changes.

1998-2002, 2003-2005, 2006-2009. 2010-2013(?), 2014-2017(?)

I can bet my pinky finger on that Yamaha is coming out with a totally new frame for 250f and 450f in 2014.

The lack of changes and effort on the 2013 modells just shows that something bigger is coming up. They don´t want to spend money on a bike that soon will be out of the productionline. Heck !...the 2014 modells may allready started rolling on that line ! Ready to be shipped and get an early release in 2013.

Yamaha knows bloody well that this current bike is getting alot, and I mean ALOT of bad talk lately. Even if the bike doesn´t really deserve it, the bad rep is hard to go by unnoticed. They need to do something fast, so maybe they just let this 2012 modell get a white rearfender and lay all their effort in the -14 bike and try to get an early release as possible in 2013.

So all Yamaha die hards....hang in there ! You will be awarded with some new, fresh and cool in 2014 !

Work on the '06 model began in '03. Work on the '10 began in '06.

'See a pattern?

I am tempted to not spend another dime on my "11 (besides maintenance). I am deploying soon and will be home in time to see the '14s get released. I am 90% sure I can make my bike near perfect (for me), but if the next gen starts off closer to what I want why spend the money on aftermarket fixxes.

Jason Thomas said he heard from a good source that Yamaha is telling Wilson that any reservations he has about the backward-engine YZ450F can be eased by a new model coming out for 2014 and one that he could potentially ride 2013 outdoors if they can get it homologated fast enough. So the big question is if this is enough to ease Wilson’s mind on the Yamaha, which is quickly proving that perception is reality. I don’t believe the machine is the best one out there, but it’s also not the worst bike ever and a career-killer like others have made it out to be. Truthfully, the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

Yes, however, KTM accelerated that design to production dramatically based on their performance in America and more importantly when Dungey wouldn't sign unless a new bike was on its way. True, Yamaha is not in the same situation ..yet, certainly the frame change (if that's the change) is a result of problems the pros are indicating (cause it isn't from slow guys like me cause the bike seems fine to me). They don't seem to have a lot of top guys wanting to ride that bike which probably means poor finishes for Yamaha..not good for marketing. Maybe the changes were already on their way from intitial testing but if nothing else, certainly poor performance lately has demanded it!
