I haven't received an E-mail from Norma for a script for an MRI yet......Guess she's busy!  ....any way I called the office yesterday and left a message with another lady and told her I had e-mailed Norma for an MRI and told her who I was.

Maybe she will have it to me by end of week or maybe by next week.

I got the script. Norma or who ever must have sent it today. Thank you for your help and maybe the result might not be to bad hopefully.

I will call for an appointment  to get the MRI tomorrow and see when they can do it and get back with you and then I will get it done and get it posted up so you can view it ..

From what my arm feels like and the way its acting I believe I have torn the Medial head Tricep Tendon off. I can feel what I think is the tendon on the underside of my arm just behind the ulna on the medial side .

Dr.Mark....I think that down their in TX. that you all can just wright a script for an MRi to someone and they can call where ever they do them and get one scheduled..   But in Virginia .....I first have to have an approval by my insurance so the Imaging Department at my Hospital can setup an appointment for me to have it done.

Norma has to contact my insurance and tell them that I need an MRi and then they have to confirm it with you (the Doctor) while she is on the phone with them..........That's the way I understand it.

I called my insurance on April 12th and said I needed an MRi but they said they needed conformation from my Doctor that I needed one. They asked me if i had your office number and I said "yes".

While I was on the phone with her(insurance lady) she called your office and Norma answered the phone. The insurance lady said to Norma that they needed my Doctor to confirm that I needed an MRi.

I believe Norma told her that you wouldn't be in the office till the next week(which would be this week) and then she would get an appointment or schedule setup for an MRi.   In other words.........The insurance company needs you to tell em that I need an MRi.

So for now I guess I'm just waiting for Norma to contact me and tell me I can go get it done..............You haven't by any chance spoken to my insurance and confirmed that I needed one have you?

I will be in the office on Thursday and I will try to get it approved.  They often have  a problem with this because they say, that I haven't examined you.  We will see what they do.

Doc....I thought I would post a pic or two on what my elbow looks like now after it has been a month.  I have defiantly some weakness in my arm now. I can lift weights with it now without pain but use light weight. I notice that my extension strength overhead is quiet weak.

And when I bench press my left Tricep is weaker and wears out quicker. I have been noticing that I have slight tingling and some numbness in my pinky and ring finger. Not all the time but like when I wake in the mornings and maybe after lifting. Some days i can notice it through out the day. Guess it could be from a hematoma in the area of where the tear occured at the tendon and putting pressure on the ulnar nerve.

Here is a pic of my elbow relaxed and you may can see a defect in the medial area.

here it is flexed

In these two pics the first one is the left arm you worked on and I have it extended out to the side. If you notice there is a couple of lines or striations near the ulna like where the medial side of the tendon would attach to the ulna. The second pic is of my right arm in the same pose and the striation marks arent present like on my left arm.

I havent heard anything from Norma about the MRi. I tried calling her today about 2pm your time but no answer but I left a message.
Another thing I could do about getting an MRi......would be......I could get Norma to Fax my Medical records to me where you fixed my left Tricep Tendon and then I could go to an Ortho here near me in North Carolina and let them look at the records and then schedule me an MRi that way.

I'm pretty sure I tore some of the Tendon on the medial side being I'm weaker and have that tingling feeling but just dont know how big of a tear.

Let me know if you have heard anything on the MRi or what you think I may have tore.

to my knowledge the approvial from you insurer is in the works.  We wrote the Rx.  You hired the insurer who is blocking the continuation of your medical care.

Anyways....as soon as I get it I will post it up.   Think you will be able to reconstruct it?
