by the end of the season we should see most of the top tier of riders back in form, CR,RV,JS,TC, and with current riders that are in form it should be the race of the season.  my money is on RV again but not the million Js will be the spoiler

Not sure how RVs rehab is going, but I remember a previous interview that he stated his goal was to come back for the Monster Cup.

It doesn't sound like the top guys will be playing musical chairs this off season so everyone will be on familiar equipment. Which means that if they are healthy they should ride with no excuses

Which means a good race

Man I'd love to see Canard suprise the whole event.  Guy's a good guy, holds his own and has had some bad luck.  Will be glad to see him on the gate no matter what but have a hope he comes back and makes up for his luck.  He definately has some riding left in him and bet he will be aggressive and anxious to get out there and remind the fans.  Forgot if the 250's (barcia, weimer, bagget, wilson, tomac) are riding with the 450's.  If so, I'm not betting on anyone.  That talent in one place at one time with Dungey, Stewart, etc.....a statement will be sure be made by someone!  I'll have the big screen ready!!

Well... last year, many of the top guys chose NOT to do it.

I don't quite understand where the money and funding for this comes from.  Do the teams go back to their sponsors and ask for a little more money to run this one event?

Is Muscle Milk backed JGR going to pony up for this?  Imagine Milsaps winning and posing with the Monster Energy girls.

I know racing is racing, but how does the business of it all work?

It turned out to be a huge event last year. I'm sure every team has it in their budget this year

If i remember correctly when reed was on the pulp mx show, he said something like he wasn't willing to risk getting injured racing at the mec this year, I could be wrong tho...

I thought after they watched RV walk away with a cool mill in cash last year they would all want a piece of that this year.  That is a great payout for one event.  This year they should all be signed in their contracts and more than ready to race by MEC.  A lot of the top guys last year were still negotiating before the race or banged up.  Dungey might be real threat this year if he stays healthy through MX season.  He might be the only top guy with confidence and seat time from racing all summer.  Some of the other guys it might be first race back from injury.

that is a one time thing and is not where their real money is made.      Dungey raced it last year because he was desperate for seat time on the new bike.   RV raced it because... well...  he gets paid by Monster.  The others potentially have more to lose than they have to gain.

I understand why racers would skip it.  It costs more to show up than they will make.    No title...nothing to brag about except the money.

Sponsors pay for exposure. It is going to be a huge event, it would be stupid NOT to go.

given that JS is not challenging for the mx title my bet is that he will prep himself and rest up for the up coming sx season but he will be blistering fat and win the million at mec

I bet we will see most of the top guys out there this year... with the injury plagued MX season those guys will be itching to get a race or two under their belts before the first race of the SX season. No amount of practice can prepare you for an actual race.

Anyone hear if BT101 is gonna be in for this? Will he be riding for 22 Motorsports?
