I am wondering if anyone has experience with following problem. I have owned this bike for a number of years but have not ridden lately for the following reason. Very difficult to start inspite of doing the following things: valve job, new rings, rejetting carb and adding a manual compression release. I finally got it started and it would run for 10 to 20 minutes then stall for no reason and would not restart no matter what! I took it to a mechanic who got it started and had the same thing happen, HE IS STUMPED! I believe it has to be electrical but i do not know what componant could be the problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

either the coil is getting hot and failing or the stator is getting hot and failing. hate to say this but have you checked the oil level?
Try turning on the headlight and see if it quits.
check the kill switch wire also. ive seen them come loose and break and shut the bike down.
double check the connections from stator to wire harness.

Thanks Bikerman
all good information. I have checked everything! all the engine work was trying to fix the non start problem then this current problem came up when we finally got it started.
thanks again
