I have "Scribner" plastic 5 gallon jugs and lots of them. Many for gas, orange one for mixed, even a green one for diesel. Capped, they seal up well.

It reads they are not for fuel, its an enviro law, they work great for fuel and everyone uses them for fuel also.

They get used for premix and extra fuel. Set in a three can holder for tie down needs.

Thanks, but whats the advantage of the Scribner 5 gallon jugs over regular plastic tanks? They aren't cheaper..

CARB spill-proof regulations in certain states or AQMD (Air Quality Management) regs have made "legal" gas jugs a pain in the asss to use.
Without the long spout or fill hose, its practically impossible to refill a vehicle.

This if you are going to store gas for more than a couple weeks. If you use it all up on your trips, use the plastic jugs.

I prefer the double handle style, makes them easy enough to handle that the wife and kids can gas up their own bikes.

Also, I can run a strap around them through the handle hole and secure them to the wall.

Wonder how many cubic feet of gasoline vapor was released as a result?

There is a small air vent, with a snap on cap on those Scribner jugs, it has the cap in place, but its not cut out. You have to cut it out. I never cut mine out. I just leave it as is. 2 fold reason, one, less seepage of fumes/spillage and with it in place, you never fill too fast for your bikes and spill it. If you are running a race car and fill up times need to be quick, punch out the vent hole. Otherwise, leave it as is. As for your pour spots, get a 3/4" brass ball valve, threaded on inlet/outlet. Then screw the pour nozzle into it and connect the ball valve to the cap with a 3/4" pipe nipple. Get the shortest pipe nipple they make. If you use the plastic ball valve ie PVC unit, works great, but over time, binds up, gas makes internals swell. Been down that road. So get the brass one from the start. Just discharge yourself if you have any static.
