I recently bought a Honda trx 300ex and I'm checking things over on it, including a carb cleaning. When I first bought it, it idled a bit too low. So I figured a clean carb would fix that. Now that it's clean, it's idling WAY to high!! The idle adjuster isn't doing anything, it's all the way out. So the idle adjuster being too high isn't the problem... Maybe carb cleaner is still in the carb and making it idle like that? (being that carb cleaner is more combustable than gasoline) and if so, when the cleaner wears off it will idle normally? It doesn't idle iradically, just really high. As if I'm giving it half throttle.

Or maybe the fuel screw needs adjusting now with a clean carb? I'll give it a try once the engines cools down.

Yeah it was the fuel screw, sorry for wasting your time.
