i have a 99 wr 400 just went up from 168 to 170 now half throtle i have a little stumble skip call it what you will i was just wondering if its having trouble switching from the needle to the main jet
up two on main should i drop the needle

Main jet has no effect at half throttle. The main could be missing and it would not matter. Main only starts to have an effect at/above 7/8ths throttle.
Is the needle jet emulsion tube or the needle showing signs of wear? Is the problem new or has it always been there since new? Did you do a leak down test?
