1)year/make/model

2006 yz250f

2)conditions (elevation,temp,humidity if extreme,type of riding

sea level, florida heat around 80-90 the past few weeks. humidity right now is 58% but usually feels a little more. motocross

3)modifications (pipe,air box,motor)

stock pipe. no toil superflow kit (no back fire screen). no motor work

4)current jetting.the answer to this question is not "stock".i tune hundreds of different motorcycles.as much info as i do remember it is not physically possible to remember the stock jetting for everything.i need to know the complete stock jetting including needle code.

current jetting is 182 main. 45 piolt. im pretty sure ive got the R or Q neetle jet on clip position 3 or 4
stock jetting is 178 main. 42 pilot. either R or Q neetle jet on clip position 4.

Ive got the JD jet kit so ive got the other needle jets and other main and pilot jets

5)running issue that is trying to be cured.

bike runs good. when I snap the throttle from idle to fully open its not responsive and bogs out and will shut off if i dont let off. i can roll on the throttle and its smooth. Last night when i went to go test ride it to see how its acting thru all gears it started pouring rain.

6)does the running issue change?affected by motor temp?better or worse when hot?better or worse when cold?

I always warm the bike up for at least 2-3 min before i ever thouch the throttle.

when i turn the idle screw up till its idleing harder and i snap the throttle its super responsive. but when i turn it back down it bogs. ive got the air/fuel mixture screw so i can mess with the mixture

last time i rode it a couple days ago it pulled hard threw all gears. but had a backfire popping when slowing down. i know this is normal but it wasnt like my 2005 yz250f.

Fuel screw is for idle ONLY
What leak jet?
Did you confirm the AP timing is set EXACTLY per the book specs?
Did you oring.wire/use a stiffer AP spring?

No one rides a bike at idle and nails the gas. All that matters is how it runs during normal riding.

Decel popping is normal though you can confirm there are no exhaiust leaks and that the packing is sound.
