I have an 05 rmz 250, i recently istalled the athena 290 kit. Ive only rode it twice with the kit. I also have stage 2 hotcams, ported and polished head, wiseco crank, a magura hydraulic cluch And a full akrapovic system. Today after work i put fresh chain and sprockets on and istalled the r&d power bowl. I havent rode it with the bowl yet but ive head good things about it. Just curious what other mods people have on their 04, 05, and, 06 suzukis. Howe they affect the performance and any opinions on my set up. Thanks

04 rmz, 270 kit, stage 2 cams, full fmf exhaust, 14,50 gearing and vroom vroom thats all i need. hows the top end with the 290 kit? i was so torn when i started modding the rmz. The one other thing that i did is change the rads on my bike to 08 kx 250f rads, and hoses, never overheat again.

It runs out good, i read several opinions about the 290's "having no top end" and others saying they rev fine. Mine doesnt have any problems pulling in high rpm. I was running 14-52 gearing for the last few years and put a 51 tooth rear on with my new chain but havent been on the bike to see how it feels.  I havent heard of putting 08 radiators on them, was there any fitment issues? Ive considered getting the heavier duty aftermarket radiators but havent ordered them yet, since really i would only be getting them for the strength in case of a crash. Does your bike have a stiff clutch pull?
