My "05" KTM450EXC is street legal in MI. My son is headed down to NOVA in Ft. Lauderdale for grad school. I was thinking to send it down with him. Can someone give me the basic requirements for being street legal ? I was born In Vero Beach. I would bet things are mightily different than from when I moved north in the sixties.

It will be street legal, but it may need blinkers to be completely legal. Georgia requires blinkers, but I don't have them on my EXC. However, I do have a tag, and that's good enough for me. I may just be lucky, but so far, I haven't been stopped.

High/low beam, Tail light with brake light, horn & left side mirror. Blinkers not needed. I have never heard any jurisdiction enforcing DOT tires. Remind your Son that FL has some Draconian laws regarding wheelies & technically after 30 days the bike should have it's registration transferred to Fl, especially if he becomes a resident...
You may also want to do a FL DMV search ......
Cheers
