I currently have my 06 kx 250 tore down to the frame, it needs a new top/bottom end.
While I have it apart I am considering parting it out keeping only the motor and electrical so that I can swap it into a KX 250/450F to do an AF conversion. I know it will take a ton of work and I may not be able to ride the KX for a while but it has been a dream of mine to build a KX 250AF.
Any takers on parts? I will need the money to fund my donor bike if I go through with this so my fiancé doesn't kill me! lol

I would stay with the kx frame, it's a really good frame with a little work to the suspension you will have a great bike.

Try adjusting your sag on the AF frame.  lol

My buddy has a 07 KX450, he just dumped a shitload of money into it to get it to turn.  Full suspension refurb and offset clamps.

My old 2010 KX450 was one of the best bikes I have ever owned. I loved the handling of it. I would be looking at doing a 2009+ KXF frame. For now its staying in the current frame. I'll do the swap in the future I think though.

Do your AL frame project before your fiancé becomes your wife and your dream becomes living room furniture

I will have a better chance of doing the AL frame swap if I presell the kx250 roller...PM me with what you are interested in and I can research and give you a fair price/see if it is worth it. I would need it all to go to raise the money...my fiancé is pretty cool about me doing what I want as long it doesn't cost her any money lol. I have a CR125 to ride while that project goes on...if it does happen.

If you are already parting it out at some point in the future, please PM me.  I don't need anything, but if you are already parting it out, then I would like to see what is available and prices.  Thanks.
