Hello,
I have a full big gun system on my bike. The head pipe is in good shape still( the PO had it jet coated) but i am done messing with the silencer, what a turd. I cant really afford a new whole system. I would like to just put a new can on it and call it a day. I see all of the big gun slip on silencers on ebay, and i wonder if they will fit my big gun header? I tossed the stock pipe so i am unsure if the diameters are close.  FMF has a slip on as well and i wonder if that can be made to fit.
Anyone been in my shoes?

Pretty sure the diameter at the connection will be the same on all pipes. After all most people just put aftermarket pipes onto stock headers. If you want a cheap header, get one from an older XL600. They are bigger than your stock header and free'er flowing. If for some reason the pipes wont mate up, then take the parts to your local muffler shop and they can help.

I bought my XR650R a few months ago and it was running a Big Guns header and stock opened muffler. The bike came with the Big Guns muffler with a race baffle also.
I swapped  the two mufflers and found the Big Guns to fit well but was very loud. I installed a quiet core and brought the sound level to close to what the stock  opened muffler was but seems to run better.
Not sure if this helps

Big Guns  are loud because there's not really much in there.   Why they are light too.  And the metal is really thin. So it rusts out really fast (some guys) , rivets are known to rust out quickly as well.
I bought one for an XR (slip on) and after checking it out I sent it back and spent a little more.  Very "chinese lookalike" kind of thing.
