I know the 'berg is bigger and will have more power, but how do the two compare? Is there any common problems with the slanted motor?
Husky dealer is closer, but the Husaberg dealer has a 2011 left for cheap (dunno if thats a good or bad thing...)
I know everyone wants a 250 or a 450, so maybe thats why the 390 doesnt sell well?
I really like the Husqvarna a lot, but I have always had a thing for husaberg since I first saw them years ago.
Please dont suggest a KTM, they are too expensive and there are so many of them around, I would like to stand out a bit!

Or maybe PM Ride.

I bet you can't go wrong with either.

I'd say husky, the 310 is like a bigger 250, so it will be light and fast/ high revving. Where as the 390 is a de-tuned 450, which means it will have less power than a 450 and most of the weight... I think the 310 sounds like more fun. Plus it looks cool, you did say you want to stand out

I have never ridden either bike.  I have a buddy with a 450 berg and another with a YZ250f with a 290 kit. Both are great bikes but the YZ290 is a blast to ride.  I have also read reviews on the husky and the Berg.  Based on everything I have read, and my experience on other bikes, If you ride extremely technical terrain I would go with the Berg.  Anything else I would choose the Husky.  It will be more fun to throw around, quicker handeling, and more responsive.

Husqvarna curb weight 247lbs not including gas. (according to website)
Husaberg weighs 251lbs (according to website) but this doesn't say if that is the dry weight or curb weight. Articles I have read say its the "ready to go weight of 251 lbs." So I'm guessing that means the same, just add gas.
Does anyone know how accurate these specs are? 4lbs doesn't seem enough to make a difference, i'm not going to be racing or anything. All other specs really seem pretty close, wheelbase, overall dimensions... Seat height is about an inch more on the 'berg, but that's not really a big deal. Compression ratio is quite a bit different on each bike, not really sure what to make of that. 13:1 on the husky, 11.1:1 on the 'berg

How do these bikes do dual sported? (a must for me) I've heard the Husky has a bit of a tough time going highway speeds due to the tight ratio tranny. I'm not gonna do any freeway stuff, but will use the bike to commute to work sometimes as well as ride to the trails.

Any other thoughts? Thanks!

My dad has a 2011 FE390 and I've spent some time on it.

I also just bought a 2012 TE310 so that probably sums up my thoughts fairly quickly LOL

The FE is a fair bit bigger, maybe not just in weight but sheer size. The 310 feels very very similar to my old (modified) 04 TE250 but has shed loads more grunt.

Depends on your size.,...for me I'm 62kg (maybe 65-67kg with gear) and at 174 cms short, the TE fits me perfectly.

I took the FE out into the woods and really struggled with the size/weight (more so when stuck in VERY deep ruts on the side of a Mtn and trying to get out and going again...)
No such issues with the TE for someone my size(ish) it's the pick over the 'Berg IMHO
