We offer the stator kit with HID upgrade for the stock light for $200.

A simple plug and play deal. No wiring or runs to battery. My DR650 only puts out 200 watts total ... HID light works perfectly.

Basically this is the whole system.
the two spade blades plug into your stock female plug. That's it.

It says it uses an AC ballast. Any thoughts on this? Would it be better running it on DC?

Sadly, not all of us are sponsored Honda or KTM racers with Hyper Inflation budgets.
My advice? Shop around and see how to get around these Crack Dealers.

Yes brighter
Very true cost to build is alot more for the latest and greatest technology.
We understand that all customers arent sponsored.
Just wanted to let him know another option in lights.
Thanks

The light will only turn on once engine speed is up to 3000 rpm. Also the relay for the HID kit is buzzing. Does this mean its not getting enough power?

If it helps, here is some information:
my battery is a Katana YTX5L-BS: 4 Ah, 45 CCA
and the relay is a CR1912 (Max-40A)
The positive lead to the relay has a 10 Amp blade fuse
This is the HID kit: http://www.ebay.com....#ht_4704wt_1037
And the stator and regulator is from Ricky Stator

I am running this on my WR 450 and it is sweet!!! It has hi and low switching that can each be turned on seperately or together if your bike is capable of powering it. On the CRF 250X you will need to look to Baja Designs or Ricky Stator for stator upgrades, but once you go with the HID you will wonder how you ever rode without it.

Have you performed the DC conversion? Or is it directly from the battery? If its not directly off of the battery, HID light ballasts require dv voltage. My hid kit is from PW_Garfield from KTMTalk.com As long as the ignition switch is on (if you have one) and hid light will run straight off of the battery. You can damage your hid ballast if your feeding ac voltage thru it.
If you are powering it directly from the battery, is power from the battery to the ballast running throught the key switch? The key switch might not be rated for the amperage required, or voltage is dropping. To see if voltage is dropping, with the light on, put a volt meter on the red and black wires of the ballast leads going to the battery. Clear as mud?

Hey 2004 crf250r
Just wanted to let you know theres some cool led options out there that can be dimmed from 5%-100% therefore not blinding on coming traffic.
heres a link to our crfx kit http://www.bajadesig...fx-Squadron-Kit
I just wanted to let you know about the led option because some of the HID options are over the $400 dollar range and for within $20 you can get led lights that will blow hids out of the water.
If you have any questions feel free to ask
Thanks
Mike
