I got mine together last week and got to take on a little 45 minute ride in some single track near my house, very smooth powerband, tons of low end, and still has overrev.

I too am thinking about a carb upgrade due to the increased bore...any recommendations out there, I know there is a company called "RB"? I think, and they put in a divider and taper bore the carb.
I need to look into what you mentioned and see what the deal is with that one..

Do you have a link to the carb?? My search is not turning up what I want..

CaveMike order completely new carb from carb parts warehouse. Instead of try freshen up 8 year old carb, him get new one for 229. Old one work okay, but CaveMike feel brand new motor deserving of brand new carb. CaveMike still considering rb mods, just not need get carb bored.

Thanks, thats the one, I also looked on carb warehouse.com like mentioned in the 1st post but not sure what I am looking for, a 39.5 mm "kit"? I imagine this is an entirely new carb since machining would need to take place in order to enlarge, not to mention tapering it...

I would imagine sending it to RB would be a more cost effective way to go if you have the time.

Just checking options since I want my new setup to work properly and I do feel that it would really benefit the top end power since the carb was only meant to keep up with the demands of a 250, now with an extra few cc's, it just needs a little more and it should work out great.  I only have about 1 hour on my EG  ported big bore head so far and it feels really good and has a ton of low end power (I also added an 11oz flyweight), I havent been able to use the WR gears (only 3-5 since I have a recluse clutch) since all I got to ride was tight slick single track...better than nothing!

Any more info on the carb warehouse.com 39.5 mm upgrade would be great.

Your going to love your new bike, will be a completely different animal!  I know I do.

Haha, you posted as I was writing..

So the new one is a 39.5 mm? So then you would just have RB do all the other stuff besides the bore if I understand correctly.

Gonna have some sweet man-jewelry, shiny carb....I love when stuff looks new, just makes you happy inside.

CaveMike find out about 39.5mm carb from Eric Gorr. Carb parts warehouse have them back ordered for 7-10 days now. Eric Gorr say carb add 3 hp on top, help extend powerband. CaveMike want talk to other people about what "low speed circuit modifications" be, and how good divider plate be.

So if you have time you can have your own carb bored out to 39.5 by RB?  Other than being new a bored carb should do the same thing right?  I have mine ported mid-top so I'm thinking the extra air at the top would be even ore beneficial.

As I understand it, the divider plate really helps simplify jetting by separating -- so to speak -- the circuits. The divider plate mod is real popular with the case-reed CRs 'cuz they can be a pain to get the jetting sorted.

Is EG putting sleeves in these as rumored, or still just boring and plating?
