Hey everybody, Im new here and into the XR world.  I recently picked up a plated XR650R that I love, and now I don't ride my ironhead much now, anyway....things are good, but one thing.  I have been lurking for awhile and after reading a bunch of posts I m hoping that you guys can help me zero in on the issue:

The famous jerky throttle issue.  (cables are good, and so is everything on the handlebars)
My issue seems to stem from the slide and the vacuum against it.  I have heard two different theories that seem legit enough to try, but there doesn't seem to be much in the way of descriptions/directions/results of the methods (drill a vacuum relieve hole in the slide  or  round the slide off on the bottom)  I use my bike on the street more than the dirt, and really need to dial this in soon as my truck just blew up and well the Harley is a Harley and isnt dependable (at this point)  It can be very sketchy when you want to ease it out or even between gears as you let off to change them, as it gets stuck and goes from 0 to 100 (in terms of throttle response), of course I have had to get used to it, and basically do a double throttle move to open it back up before I totally let out the clutch (which is not how I should have to deal with this)

So I need some real good clarification on the best/less evasive move to smooth out the "crack" so I can ride all day everyday without worrying about wheelies and burnouts (as fun as that is, I still need a couple more years on this planet)

Any love would be appreciated!  Thanks!

Oh and here is the pig:

I found with this problem the way to help it is to make sure ur cables adjustment at the carb are not to tight.
