Does a dirt bike that is kept clean, with cosmetic and painted parts make you angry inside?

AMEN to that...I know the last thing I want to do on a weekend is some landscaping. Probably why working on my bike is stress relief, like so much other stuff.

My buddy took me to this "gear man" yesterday...Dude works at a dealer and has tons of brand new gear in the bed of his truck, chemicals, air filters, stands, goggles, etc. etc. but I got some of that brand new fly evolution jersey and pants for $50. Retails for like $150 easy, and full jug of engine ice for $10 vs, $25 new hell of a dude to know.

your gear man mail me some stuff? my buddy used to know a FOX rep and he was gettin the serious hook ups on alot of stuff

This guy has just fly gear and helmets, gloves, goggles, lift stands, chemicals, lubricants, etc etc...

My buddy got those super badass Gaerne boots from him with the carbon fiber back plates for $250...That's why he sold me his tech 10's for $100 and a yard cut lol The tech10's blew me away coming from tech3's...and his gaerne's blew my tech10's out of the water...Amazing how nice a boot can get, but he has everything mentioned above and he can get some other amazing stuff apparently like those gaerne boots. I wish I knew which model they were.

This guy is right across the bridge in arkansas, so we met him in downtown Memphis and his prices are consistently about 1/3 retail. That gear set I bought for $50 usually runs for $150 most anywhere, and those gaerne boots I know are atleast $600 retail. I got his number while I was there  and I'll seriously ask him for you...I wouldn't be surprised if he was down but being a simple redneck type I could also see where he wouldn't be interested :ride: but I'll def check.

I wouldn't require any extra, I'm not like that. I love going outta my way or whatever to make someone else's day or help them out. I need to give him a call and see if he would be okay with shipping....I honestly have no idea and just got hooked up with him yesterday (sunday) and if he says yes I can give you his number or you and I could work something out like you said  You can get pretty much any gear set (jersey/pants) FLY offers for $50-90 depending how new or nice. It's all brand new stuff with tags though :banghead:

On the subject of helping folks, check out this FREE electric razor chopper I got from a customer the other day! Tell me what you think I should do (explained below)

So, my first thought is to fix it up and give it to a DESERVING kid that's parents maybe could never afford to buy him a dirt bike or nice bicycle (like me). Of course it's not running, but overall is just in killer condition. It's electric, and I'm sure was just left on, and it's battery is fully dead. If it winds up being more, my buddy is a whiz with electronics and we'll get it figured out relatively easily.

I've looked up the charger and battery themselves brand new and they are all "relatively" cheap at around $15-30 a piece. I really don't care what it costs though, I am going to get this thing running, and in the mean time find a kid that really deserves it. Just imagine being handed this bad boy as a kid....This trumps the electric jeeps or anything else I've seen. I think it even does all of 20mph. Either way, it'll be totally worth it to make a kid poop his pants :ride:

Anybody familiar with one of these or better yet owned one?? This is the same razor company that makes the little 2 wheel scooters, and they make a whole line of "dirt bike" versions and a bunch of others :smashpc: I really wish I could have gotten a hold of one of the dirt bike ones, but this one is MEGA cool. Even has the miller lite decals :banghead: and actual disc brakes just like our bikes...just a little smaller. It's really above the level of being a "toy".

This is as clean/blinged out as my bike's going to get.  I usually just use a garden hose & wipe her down, but every 2 or 3 rides, I'll scrub the plastics so they're white again and get the motor, hoses, hubs, etc. spotless.  (I just love when my truck's loaded down w/ Honda!)

I went the cheap route and just got the slip-on on ebay for $315.  Dented my stock pipe, and wanted a good looking replacement with a spark arrestor.

Wow. I'm not very familiar with anything for the 4 stroke bikes, and I definitely wasn't even aware that they made "slip-on's"...That's crazy, and it's still $315? Dayum. The guys at yoshi must be shitting gold into these things. Apparently my buddies added a little power at higher RPM's or something yet he's never even hit the rev limiter. For almost a grand, it better just be the most incredible pipe ever.

ALL the full titanium/carbon systems go for close to or over $1,000.00

I gotcha. My buddy has a long history as a super bike racer, and in mx, and with all kinds of performance companies. I don't know how he gets these deals, but he got the yoshi pipe looks exactly like yours, but the real one for a little over $400  Then he took me to this "gear man" we met downtown memphis and I got a brand new set of fly evolution (top of liine for fly gear) gear for $50. I think it normally retails for $150. Definitely awesome knowing a guy like him.

I also just scored my buddies alpine star neck brace (the ultra light one) with strap kit for $200...Picking it up tonight. Does that sound like a decent deal? It's used, but in perfect condition and it's the super duper special "extra light" one.

I'm a little hesitant because I've heard some bad reviews on comfort, but I'm not sure comfort is priority #1 for safety. I see the alpinestar brace more than any other so I figured it's legit enough to provide protection, which is all I really care about.

Yea he's one of those that's been everywhere, done everything, and knows somebody everywhere. He worked at hypertech for a while and invented the powercharger I bought and installed on my chevy 350..

And that $415 price was for a brand new yoshi pipe too. Not used. They definitely are cool, but I'd never pay more than 3 for a new one.

I really don't know but it looks exactly like your slip on and has a carbon fiber tip. It's the one that retails for $800 or so.

Well, turns out the damn alpine star bionic neck brace was NOT the carbon one...Just the regular bionic. The guy I bought it from is a little dull, but it still was a decent deal for $200, considering they're $300 new and this one had 2 rides on it.

I also scored some bada$$ FOX knee guards, like new for $40, with TWO hinge bolts at the knee. Always avoid any knee guards with just 1 pivot/hinge bolt on each side of the knee (like my sixsixone's). Those won't bend correctly or have a free pivoting knee section. The upper thigh section would stand up under my pants and make my whole leg section/pants extra tight and bulky, taking away flexibility and basically make me MORE likely to crash. So I'm definitely relieved to have this stuff. These FOX braces are super slim as well and will be perrrfect... Very important.

I also scored a free stock 7/8" renthal bar, bar pad, and another fat bar pad for freeee. Going to give them to my buddies son, since he races and has a kawi. Anyway, check it!

I'm actually kind of bummed. I've gotta go outta town this weekend up to the smokey mnts aka knoxville, TN (my favorite place) to go white water rafting and sky diving with my friends. I know, what a bummer right? Well I didn't get to ride this past weekend, and looks like I won't be either this weekend. For the past 6 months basically since I've owned this bike again, I have ridden every weekend. I'll still have fun, but man.... ALL I WANNA DO IS RIDEE!!!

Haha yep! I prefer the term "perfectionist" because it rolls over into my truck, my business, and everything in between.

Well I finally got out to the track yesterday with the new neck brace and knee guards and man, I love them both. I couldn't tell I had either of them on the whole day, but I was in a rush so I rode with my white plastics. The bike is still pretty dirty and has the black scuff marks all over it from my pants and knee braces. I need to snap some pics for yall to see what I'm talking about AND to see it dirty for once lol

After i get done with a weekends worth of riding I'll spend more then half a day cleaning my bike when most don't think its dirty at all.
i don't hose it or power wash it . I use a wet rag with some soap , take all plastics off ,armor off and clean it thoroughly using the rag and a old toothbrush for the hard to reach areas and dry it with a a dry cloth .
then , I use this moto polish and go through the bike once more polishing everything ,put it all back together and then I clean the air filter .
this system is kind of expensive .the air filter oil i use and chain lube and moto polish adds up when i do this every weekend .
and living in New Mexico ,the dust gets on the bike quickly and i polish it again before I ride .
I've scratched up the plastic's and dented the muffler from rides and crashes so by no means is it a show room worthy bike but I do it anyways .
Wife says I'm I'm (OCD) Obsessive-compulsive disorder about this and other things but you know what ? its clean !!

Yep. Bike looks KILLA man. People b!tch about it, but what the hell is it hurting? Nothin'. Then some it makes them mad. Oh well. I sure as hell don't mind it, and I'm the one that does the work lololol

My new shroud graphics came in yesterday!

I was f'ing pissed off about the way they decided to ship them...All on a sheet and rolled up and put in a box...Awesome

Good thing I got skill...Put them on dry. That's the way to do it, and there are much less bubbles.

Your absolutely right . they get upset cause they would like to have their bike looking that good but they don't want to put in the sweat work .
they think their time is more valuable . more power to them but I value the money i put to buy my bike and I am happy to put the time in to keep it running as good as it can and keep its luster . Now if i can just stop crashing it
there's this guy Johnny who i ride with allot  always giving me shit about on how clean my "dirt bike" is .he also wanted me to clean his filthy bike . told him 60 bucks and I'll have it as clean as can be . he took that offer up and when I was cleaning his bike i found allot of bolts loose ,the boot that goes to the carb from the air box was more then half way off and has been that way for a Long time . you could tell by the crap that was built up . he's gonna be pouring out $$$$ because of his negligence on that bike .
anyhow i got 100 bucks for tightening the bolts and nuts ,cleaning his bike and giving him the bad news of he's been sucking dirt for a long time .

anyhow thanks and that would infuriate me seeing the way they shipped those graphics but you got your bike looking Awesome . nice job :ride: :banghead:

To be honest. I love clean bikes, I make a conscious effort to get in front of them and brake the rear tire free in the muck. Ive thrown mud over trees before...all of my friends want me at the back of the group for some reason....still can't figure out why they get annoyed when I lead, Ohwell....
