It's a 2010 all-wheel drive, 4-door SUV...I can't imagine complaining in the slightest. I'd have my girlfriend in that thing in a heartbeat, pull a small trailer with bikes.

The Mercury line is just a more 'pimped' version of the Ford, in this case the Escape.

It is only lame to the person whom has no car at all, and has to envy/talk down someone else's car.

cheers

A 16 year old with a 2010 Mercury Mariner/Ford Escape is doing pretty good I'd think.

Do you get all the bills that go with the car too? When I was sixteen I owned my own car bought with my money. I also got to pay all the taxes, tags, insurance, fuel and repair bills as well.
Or are mommy and daddy paying?

cheers

Yes mommy and daddy/grandma and grandpa are obviously paying. I wish more kids lived a more realistic life. I'm 17, for two years when I was 15 through 16 I worked 4 days a week, twelve hours a day on a farm, not dads farm either so NO special treatment. I got two half hour breaks and then I'd ride my bike 7 miles home at the end of the day. I saved and bought a 99 stratus which I sadly totaled (lol serious story is now funny...). But I paid all the bills, the tax, registration and plates. Gas. Parts for repairs I could do myself and I paid the mechanic to do what I couldn't out of my VERY HARD earned money. Now I have my dr350 which I bought with my own money and Paying for oil, live, has, insurance, registration and plates, literally everything. I wasn't allowed to get a phone till I could pay for it myself. I don't want to make this all about pride, but a LOT of the time on the Internet all the teens and young adults like these kids make me feel very, very manly, and real. I haven't had life handed to me and I'm glad I didn't. I have a new job now as in IT for a local ad/paper business, and I work at Walmart in the evenings.

So go and complain about the cars your parents bought you, while I go back to work, like a man should.

Monster Energy and Fox stickers on the back windshield should unlamify said ride. Seriously though, making fun of a buddy's vehicle is what is lame. I'm nearly 44 and drive a 10 year old GMC Envoy with well of 200K miles. While I would not personally care for a Ford product, I would love to have something a little newer.

How is his 2010 Mariner any more of a grandpa car than your 2008 Impala?

My usual daily driver is a 97 Buick LeSabre. THAT'S a grandpa car.

3.9 gpa and THAT is how you type? You just made that entire post out of 1 sentence and then a giant run-along with no punctuation. Normally I don't pick at grammar or spelling, because I don't care. But you brought up your gpa which isn't showing here at all!

I'd rather have a mariner than an impala, if they were both pink I'd pick the mariner. So your car is the "grandpa car" here. I hate people who basically brag about they're "dough" as you put it. I honestly feel good about myself after reading how you and your buddy's live. I wouldn't want any part in that. I have always, and will always live between corn fields (aside from college), and I'm proud of that. I will always work my ass off, and I'm very proud of that.

I feel sorry for you.

You can be wealthy and still be realistic, I have plenty of very wealthy friends. Some of them live like snobs, and some of them live like a man should, but they don't have to. They can have anything they want from they're parents, they don't need to work whatsoever, and yet they still work, all the time. Even though it makes no difference for them whatsoever. Men should work, bottom line. Call me conservative, ignorant or anything else you can think of, but who will you ask to build your barns? Or fix your cars and SUVs? You'll ask the real men who take the time and effort to do things for themself instead of just relying on someone else. But the world couldn't function without people like you... Because otherwise we wouldn't make any money doing your petty repairs and projects for 4x the money it take to do it yourself. Without you the real men would be out of a job, but we would survive by our own means. Without us where would you be?

Well I must admit that grammar is most definetly not my best, nor my favorite subject. English is the only subject I have a A- in. That's a moot point though. How I type on an internet forum has nothing to do with my GPA. Just to clear things up in not one of those rich kids that gets whatever he wants, and the only time that I pay someone to work on anything is when I do not have the tools to do it myself. I won't take my car to a shop for an oil change or brakes that's a waste of money I can use to put into my bikes. I mean yes I get everything I want but everything my parents would hire somebody to do I do it instead. Also I hate the big city, detest it. I would much rather be out in the middle of nowhere in some woods hunting, riding, or whatever there is to do. My parents won't get me everything I want either I have to buy some of my own stuff and I have to contribute at least a thousand when I get a new motocross bike, and no I didn't earn it from my parents I worked for it elsewhere. There is also no way I could think your ignorant I agree with most of what you are saying.......wad ma gramerrr duh goods enoof er do I ned ta edet it.
