I know this topic has been talked about before " what's your favorite" or "Damping all the time " vs " no damping back to 0" but I would like to here your thoughts on the ( S3 Selective Steering Stabilizer from Ohlins ) and woods riding.

I came across the S3 when I was looking on Ohlins web site for more info on the 2.1 Steering Damper for my newly acquired 2011 Husaberg FE 390.  When I first saw the S3 I thought it was just a top triple clamp (Bling). After a few visits to there site I couldn't resist clicking on the photo of it to take a look, WOW, after reading about it I called a Ohlins dealer and was told that nothing is available yet.  After a couple of days dreaming of how sweet it was going to look on my Berg, providing it wasn't priced off the charts, the thought of it not damping when my bars hit a tree got me worried and my bubble burst.

The S3 is supposed to be able to detect movement from your bars vs. from the wheel and only dampen when there is movement from the wheel. So if your bars bounce off of a tree while riding in the woods do wont that hit to be damped or not?

So, what are your thoughts on the S3 and or thoughts of your Damper not damping when you hit a tree, is that good or bad in your opinion?
