Rebulding my old SL125 K0 and have a pristine TL125 crank. Do they have the same stroke? Hoping to just put in the TL125 crank and finish the rebuild.

The crank will fit perfect as far as I know. The difference is the ignition and lighting coils don't bolt in the same. It won't matter if you are using the SL stator/rotor, but the batteryless TL system won't bolt into the SL cases.

Early TL's had the same stroke and rod length as CL/SL. Used a smaller dished piston and came out to 122cc. Haven't been into a split head TL but I don't think the stroke was changed in them either, just got the larger main bearings like the XL.

Have to bore a 122cc TL cylinder .5mm for a standard CB piston. A flat top or dome top will go in without any modifications. A std. dome top was the 1st. thing I did to my 1975TL, helped preformance somewhat. Now I'm using a DRZ125 Wiseco piston, it will not "bolt in" but well worth the hours of modifying to make it 133cc's and 12:1 compression.

I have a spare CB125 .025 over piston and want to use it. The cylinder is NOS. Just wana make sure it will work!

Im pretty sure the cranks or not the same and are different because of the LHS crank web on the TL125, this is smaller than the RHS web to allow for space for the larger first gear sprocket. The SL crank webs are the same size or the same size as the RHS TL web.
Double check but im sure im right.
Cheers

how about wheels - TL250 interchange with the TL125? that is can I use the 250 wheels on a 125? I think they are the same.

Everyone, when I finished measuring everything, the difference is the ignition side of crankshaft has a longer end. I noted that the timing gear is in the same postiion. The SL ignition assembly will stick out too far. So I cannot swap it out.

I only had my TL crank out for a day and never noticed the length difference. If you could find a TL rotor and left cover/stator you would have a good setup. You might have to remove the SL stator case lugs to clear the rotor though. Don't think the crank wheel size would make any difference using the SL transmission.

I don't have a 250 to look at but I can almost guarantee the axels are way bigger on the 250. I have a friend with a TL250 looking for sprockets. He may be posting on here later and will know about the wheel dimensions.
