So, after taking the vapor canister off of my 400S. I decided to do some DIY and use the parts to make a tool tube. I used the front reflector bracket, the original bracket and some 2"ABS plastic. Add to that a couple cheap plugs and I think it came out pretty good. Posted Image Posted Image Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

Looks good. I have been playing around with ideas. One was to put a tooltube down low at the front of the bashplate as I have seen on adventure bikes but I think I would break it. Another is to expand & modify the battery box since I have a small battery in there now. Possibly get one of eddies brackets & an empty battery case

I found two options to have removable caps on an abs pipe. One is a plumbers test cap that is a cork with a nut & bult that expands it inside & the other is a rubber cap that fits around the end of the tube with a hose clamp. They have them in the plumbing section of hardware stores.

Epic,
i used the plug that Bedun is talking about. It's a pressure plug specifically for ABS/PVC pipe. It's made by Oatey. I wanted something I didn't need tools to open and thought that the female adapter with the screw plug was a bit bulky. This thing is water/dust proof, easily removable, and cheap. That and the plastic white plug set me back $4.50. I already had all the other parts.

I didnt see that you used the Oatey plug. I have seen other set ups like that but I think the problem was the plastic tabs breaking. Anyone know where I can get an empty battery box the size that eddie is using in his setup? When my Turntech 2.5 A battery dies I was thinking of getting a lightweight tube & cap matching my MRD SSW & making a tool tube out of that with a tiny battery at the bottom. It would look like a dual exhaust & be secure.

Hey Bed,
Are you talking about plastic tabs on the battery box? Because all the mounting hardware I used is metal. And all the nuts/boats are coated wtih loctite. Should be good to go, although I may modify it later with some larger tubing. After all, I've always got to messing with something.
