Hi! So, I do a little enduro, but I also want a bike I can do some road miles on. Can anyone guide me on the best big bore thumper I can buy? Lightweight (as big bore's go) and powerful? I had a DR650 before, but that thing was lardy and underpowered to say the least!

hi guys new here and have the same ? I myself have been riding dirt bikes for the better part of 40 yrs and I am currently riding a xr600r that is no wher close to stock but the parts are getting harder to find and now I am looking for a newer bike and do not want  to give up the power of the 600. I live in the mountains of oklahoma and ride there most of the time but my job takes me all over the states, so I want a bike that will preform well every where and not just great at one type of rideing, any suggestions?

If your budget allows, buy the newest big bore KTM XC-W you can afford...maybe a 450 or 530 equivalent.  I know several guys who ride big bore KTMs.  The most frequent riding buddy has a 530 XC-W and loves the bike.  It has over 200 hours and he has only shimmed the valves once and performed basic maintenance.  I would recommend a 2007 or older if you are on a budget..they had the "RFS" engine design and they were bulletproof and high performance in one package.
