Is it possible to build a 20 horsepower xr 200? Via bigger cam, higher compression, pumper carb?, or by using the 218 or 240 kit? What is the best ripping xr 200 ever? I believe the stock xr 200 is about 15 horsepower stock.

Depends on whether you use crank or rear wheel horsepower, Honda claims 19hp at the crank, some dyno measured rear wheel HP for a stock engine at only 12.  Two types of dynos; brake and inertia. The first is the most accurate, the second easiest to use. So maybe absolute numbers should not be the criteria but rather a percentage gain over stock measured on the same dyno.

It is possible to achieve 25-50% power gains via bore, stroke, compression, cam, carb, and exhaust. For trail riding bottom end is better than peak power and a properly modded XR200 (218) engine will produce more torque than a stock XR250R. That power in the lighter 200 chassis makes a nice woods weapon. If you want a race bike then HP may be important and there are other engines better suited for that use.

I was thinking hp at the crank. Honda's claim of 19 seems a little high! I also love torque as I own a 02 xr400. But I am looking at adding a xr 200 to ride tighter trails and to get better gas mileage. That 218 kit sounds nice, does it cost a arm and a leg? Does it make an extra few horses?

Oh yes it makes a few more horses!  The bike is transformed, you can ride almost everything  at least one gear higher.  Price is almost a grand, check out Powrolls website for prices.  You need at least a big bore kit, stroked crank, Torque cam, and HD valve springs.  Optional is exhaust and unifilter.

Does anyone have an update on powroll deliveries? I have contemplated a stroker, but saw tons of posts about them not shipping parts on time, and not answering phones
