May trade my YZ450 for a YZ250. Parts compatibility question...

If the forks and shock do swap, its going to be pointless anyways. They wiill need a revalve. They work good on the 450 thats heavier and will not work as well on the 2 stroke. Lighter. The only reason I could see going this route was if your current stuff is all DLC coated ect.

The forks/shock on the YZ450F were revalved for a 190 lb woods rider. I'm about 30 lbs heavier than that, plus I'll be adding about 10 lbs in accessories to the bike, so the weight difference in the bike will be made up in my girth and woods accessories for the YZ.

The test is the diameter of the '09 YZ250 rear axle. Yours is 22mm, the '09 YZ450 is 25mm. There is no practical way to convert an earlier wheel to fit the later bike, but I'm not sure the 2T picked up that change in '09.

2T rear end remains the same as it did since 2005 anyway. Beings that he has a 08 YZ450 it will all move over to the 2T without trouble.
