  :ride:  That's a LOT of Km's...

...and you probably have a shorter riding season than we do here in the South...

Kinda the opposite but similar topic, but I wonder how many ppl have ridden alot with the speedo stuff disconnected to make there bike appear to have less miles to look good for when they sell it, or warranty purposes.

When I was browsing Craigslist for a DRZ there sure was tons of beat looking ones that had barley any miles.

I want an aftermarket set of dirt wheels for my SM, they have said the ODO will not read.

When we were in our late teens me and a friend rang up about some car 'we had to have'.

Woman answered and said her boyfriend who's car it was was currently out.

So we asked if she could tell us something about it...

So she told it it had service history, what colour it was, all the upgrades he'd done etc and then went on to tell us ".........and i know it doesnt have as many miles on it as it should because every now and again he takes something on the speedo off......."

Er,yea.thanks.

My 2006 SM is sitting at approximately 46000 hard miles. Still with the original cam chain tensioner.

From the 15 of December to 15 of March, there's a law against riding without winter tires here so we can't ride legally.

Broke my collarbone in 2009  so I lost a lot of miles that summer :p

and how many cam chains?

i have around 25-30,000 on my tagged klx400r. it's a guess but i put the vapor on and a few rides later the stator went out (they die around 15-20k) and the vapor reads 10,6xx tonight.  the head was rebuilt by Eddie at around  4,000 miles but other than that the bottom end is original.

I have a 2003 Kawasaki KLX400.

Current milage is 5922.  I've had the bike for 10 months now, I bought it off my dad.  It's basically my first bike, I had a 2008 Yamaha XT250 to learn on for a couple months, then sold it to buy the KLX400.

It was never used on the dirt, just street for the past 9 years.  I need a set of 17's so I can have street tires and knobbies...  =)

No idea on the miles, but mine has 650 hours on it. Which equals .4 hours per day, every day, for the last 5 years.

I know this is not a DRZ, but my 1978 Kawasaki KZ 1000 has 126,000 miles on it. Cam chain and rollers wore out at 72,000 miles. Rebuilt c chain and related parts and installed a Weisco 1075 kit. Transmission and clutch are original. All miles were easy running and bike has been on Amsoil since 30,000 miles. Mitch

Over 26K original miles here on my stock motor, cam chain(mcct),stator, cams, valves, clutch, speedo cable, wheel bearings, etc, etc, the whole 9 yards on my SM.No cheating of any kind.I'm very pleased with the longevity of a DRZ.You get your money's worth out of 'em.

I would have the original cam chain, but when I did cams, porting and the BB install, I replaced the cam chain with a DID unit.
My stator has just kicked the bucket now. I'm in the process of sorting out a non working brand new Ricky Stator.

I think your math might be a touch off there.
