hey so i used to have a 06 crf250r but im currently on a 03 cr250 2 stroke.. anyways i can get a sweet deal on a 08 crf250r with super low hours.. or im looking at another deal with the 08 yz450f and another deal with a 08 crf450r... im looking for a bike for mx, will be racing a junior class.. im 17 years old (not a beginner) 150 pounds and 6'2... any ideas on which bike is should get? how do the yz and crf compare handling/weight wise? and will the 250f be a LOT more maintaince???? let me know please i need some input on this decision cause i plan on picking up one of these bikes soon.....

08 crf250 is a nice bike that does everything good..........08crf450 is a nice bike that does everything good but it is on the heavy side and has a power house motor that will wear you out.......08 yz450f is a lighter slimmer feeling 450 with a smooth motor with stock exhaust and has great suspension....all 3 are great bikes so its up to you to get the one best suited for you and thats in the best mechanical shape

the yz450f does feel lighter and slimmer than the crf450 even tho they probably weigh the about the same

I personally know Hondas to be pretty tough, but it always depends on the bike. Yamahas are good too, but in my personal experiences, I have known Hondas to be less work and more riding (both my little 100 and some of my friends' 250s vs my friend's YZ250F). But again, it all depends on the individual bike. Not bashing Yamahas, because both companies make great bikes, and I'm sure there are some people out there who have had better experiences with Yam's than Hondas.

It's mostly preference....see which one suits you best and go for it.

so right now my question is just crf450r or yz450f... i found a 08 yz450f for 3400 with 15 hours total on it.. and i found a 05 crf450r for 2300, a 06 crf450r for 3000, and a 08 crf450r for 3600... what do you guys think?? which will be more reliable and better handling? ive heard yamahas handle weird is this true?

your questions have already been answered....you might read anything on here....yeah bubba cant ride a yamaha without crashing but yet he is a pro so i would not get a yamaha beings you heard they handle weird....you might want to look at suzukis to...i think bubba likes them and them green colored bikes to....so you might want to look at the kawasakis ...get you a bike and go have fun!
