I am in the process of rebuilding the rear shock on my 2002 CR250 because it was leaking. I have it stripped down now and I am in the process of ordering new parts but wondered what I should order. This is what I have so far but is their anything else that needs replacing for a service? The bush looks in good condition on the piston as well. Thanks

Shaft bushing
Bumper if worn or damaged
Also consider a new piston band or even better a split ring piston band from MxTech.

+1 for the split ring band. Takes about 1 hour less to change out than the stock band
Stock bands are a pain!!

I just went through my rear shock on my CRF450R and changed out the following:
-Bladder (OEM)
-Shock Shaft Nut (Bought from MX-tech when purchasing the piston ring)
-Replaced seals on the Rod Guide (OEM)
-New Bumper Rubber (OEM)
-Piston Band using the MX Tech Low-Friction Piston Ring
-Fresh shock oil
I also revalved the shock myself while I was in the shock and also replaced the HSC Spring with the one that Factory Connection sells. I definitely second the recommendation of replacing the shock piston band with the low-friction ring that MX-Tech sells. Takes literally a minute or two to remove the old piston band and o-rings, and install the new ring and thinner o-rings. I think it has helped make the shock rebuild/bleeding process go a lot smoother.
