that's too bad, no reason to upgrade my 2006, I'm not interested in a full size 200

You could do what I did, buy a 150 then convert it to a 200. Now I've got the one of the only 2011 200 SX's in existence.

Your loss blah.  As you know, but continue to harp, there is minimal difference between the old and new ergos.  What you may gain in a "smaller" feel, you will lose in weight gain.  My 08 may technically be larger, but it rides so much smaller and more nimble than my 05, it's silly.

YUASA XTX4L-BS is 2.9 lbs ~$45
Motor Power AGM CBTX4L is 3 lbs ~$30
The Shoria Lithium is 1.61 lbs ~$143

Save ~1.3 lbs for an extra hundred bucks.

....meh.....

DrThumper is right...

Battery in my 2012 300xc-w: http://www.yuasabatt...D=B166&vID=7809

Hard to save 3 or 4lbs on a battery that only weighs 2.9lbs to start with.

If the new 200 does get an e-start a lot will change. The cases and stator will be different for sure.

Being older doesn't have anything to do with it as much as where you ride and how hard it is to start it in certain places when the engine dies . If you aren't riding any sketchy technical stuff no big deal. But if you are it's a lot easier, and safer. I just was riding a 2011 gasgas 250 with electric start in some tight hilly cliffy trails and the e-start is the bomb. The repositioning I would have had to do with my non-e-start 2 stroke and kicking accumulates throughout the day.

It gets even better if you like to work the bottom end power in a tight section and stall.  A quick "clutch & button push away" could have you going again before you even have time to put a foot down.  This leads to having more confidence in running in a taller gear and that has advantages in hooking up and pulling away.  I believe in it so much that I sold a very trick factory support bike (got it second hand with several thousand dollars worth of trick parts and suspension) just so I could "get the button".

Was the best move I ever made.

Hmmm, I didn't realize '06 was the last of the 125-framed 200's . . . I'll keep my '06 200 too. I couldn't sell it for what it's worth anyway. (my '06 probably has less time on it than most 2010 bikes.)

'07 was the last year of the smaller frame and lower seat height.  Being 5'6" tall with about a 29" inseam, I like my '07 (glad I found one with just 6 hours on it last summer).  I've ridden some 08s and 09s... not enough to get a real good feel for the bike, but enough to be detterred by the fact that I couldn't touch both tip-toes on the ground at the same time.

Just got my 13 200 XC W. first ride was in a muddy race so hard to judge but one thing is the e start may stay on. Fell down a few times near the end of the race and was exhausted. Push the button and go. Want to ride my usuall spot to see about the weight.

Honestly, what's the point of an E start unless you are an older rider? My 200 started up the other day (year 2000) with a plug in the exhaust and the choke off... First kick...

On the other hand, if you don't plan on pounding out laps with it, then the E start might be worth the extra weight in the thick  woods or mountains. It is a nice feature though, but I'm pretty young so kicking doesn't really bother me. I kind of like it (when the engine cooperates).
yeah kicking is fine until your stuck on a nasty hill facing sideways.

Been racing harescrambles for years and finally got to race my 2013 200 xc-w for the first time today since getting it 2 weeks ago.... I love the e start. I crashed in an off camber section, no wider then a goat path, my kick starter was on the up hill side which would have been virtually impossible to start with out using a tree to hold myself up as i couldnt reach my foot down on the down hill side.... the e start was a life saver! and esp because this happened at about an hour and 30 min, was getting pretty tired. So now that i have it i dont want to go without!

I'm with you! Usually when I stall, it's because I'm in a tricky messed up situation. estart forever for me.

my 08 is noticeably lighter than my 05, especially when on the hip.  the newest with the estart are a little heavier, closing that gap, which may have been your point.

We had this debate in the 4t fourm like 10 years ago.lol There will always be some that dont like it and thoughs who have had it, kind of like the XC over the XC-W bebate.

totally different argument when it's a 4stroke. 4strokes require a much more deliberate starting technique, and are prone to difficulty. 2strokes are very very very easy to start.

I probably wouldn't run a 4stroke w/o either an e-start or rekluse, but I'm quite happy to ride 2strokes w/o e-start.
