The 2013 200 XC-W gets electric start this year with a new Cyl head, new carb settings and a headlight/tail light. Listed at 219.4 lbs. At least for Canada. Delivery is 5 weeks away with price $100 more than 2012. At least you have the option to remove the e start.

How did you get the price and release date? Got a price on any other 13's like say the 2013 250sx?

Thanks

Weight sound way off, US models are 209 pounds. I can't believe 10.4 pounds for a headlight, tailight, wiring & a switch?

you forgot the heaviest parts, the battery and starter motor. you can drop like 3 lbs by using a lithium battery.

Honestly, what's the point of an E start unless you are an older rider? My 200 started up the other day (year 2000) with a plug in the exhaust and the choke off... First kick...

On the other hand, if you don't plan on pounding out laps with it, then the E start might be worth the extra weight in the thick  woods or mountains. It is a nice feature though, but I'm pretty young so kicking doesn't really bother me. I kind of like it (when the engine cooperates).

Only $100 more than a 2012 is pretty good especially with the lights and e-start. I just bought one of the last 2012's a few weeks ago. PM me if you want the price and info where I bought it.

Being older doesn't have anything to do with it as much as where you ride and how hard it is to start it in certain places when the engine dies . If you aren't riding any sketchy technical stuff no big deal. But if you are it's a lot easier, and safer. I just was riding a 2011 gasgas 250 with electric start in some tight hilly cliffy trails and the e-start is the bomb. The repositioning I would have had to do with my non-e-start 2 stroke and kicking accumulates throughout the day.

what size frame is it in,  the 250/300 frame?  or a 125 sized frame

125 size frame. I have a 05 EXC and been riding it since 06. Ride tight 1-2 nd gear rocky rooty , side of mountain stuff. I have been hung up with a stalled motor on a side of a cliff so Hawaiidirtrider has it right, more to do with what you ride than age. Not hard to start a 200. Having said that the e start may come off as 10lbs is a lot to drop.

yes your 05 is in a 125 size frame and so is my 2006,  I was asking about the 2013 bike,  I thought they went to big frame and big ergo's in 2008 for the XC & XC-W

Up until 08' the 200's were $1000 less than a 250/300, since then they have been making vary small updates on but raising the price every year untill it was with in a couple hundred bucks of the e-start 250/300, at least now they can justifie the price.

They should have made e-start available to install after the sale, but that would have lowered the dealers margins,

Seems like you buy these thing by the pound lately, the price and the weight go up together.

E-start adds much value to the bike for resale... Kind of similar to the added resale on a 4x4 vehicle

that's too bad, no reason to upgrade my 2006, I'm not interested in a full size 200
