I just saw that NGK offers Iridium spark plugs for my TE300 (same as KTM EXC300).

Can it improve mileage / culture?
Any experiences?

Because the Iridium used in the center electrode resists erosion by the combustion process better than steel, the electrode can be made finer.  The finer the electrode is, the easier it is for a given amount of electrical energy to cause a spark to jump the gap, which means there is less likelihood of a misfire, and more likelihood of being able to produce a good spark at cranking speeds.  They may also last longer.

That's all they will do for you.

That's what I use in my 300. I change it out once a season. No better performance. The Iridium just lasts longer is all.

The thinner electrode is also more prone to failure, and dropping off into your engine, not only causing a slight misfire, but normally a ruined cylinder........I just use BR --  EG type in my CR's, 125, 134 and 250, they are cheap, change them out every 3 months or so...

I believe Suzuki called for an Iridium plug in the 96' RM250. After using them, I switched to Regular NGK BR8ES if I remember correctly.  Personally, I noticed no performance difference,  and they only cost about 1/8th the price.

My 05 YZ125 came with a standard plug.  In 06 or 07 Yamaha started specing the 125 with an Iridium plug.  I installed the Iridium plug in my 05 and found it easier to jet and it seemed to run a little cleaner.  It made enough of a difference that I always run Iridium's in my 2 strokes.  YMMV

i have NEVER fouled a plug on my rm250. I replace my plug at time of topend. I decided to throw an iridium one in there just for the heck of it. noticed zero difference other than my wallet being 5 dollars lighter. I decided to keep in in for 2-3 topends, i want to see how long this baby is going to last!
