Not trying to be an ass, I am actually curious/interested in this. Why do the mark them? I have a feeling I am going to feel stupid when I get the answer lol

Vsually checking tampering...visually see that its been torqd... Visually know if it jas loosenedAlso if you have various cases in your shop you can see which ones are good... Its like leaving a check mark youve done it

I figured something like that. But if you have the internal bolts exposed why not just check them for proper torque? Or is it that you want to see if bolts are coming loose and therefore indicating the possibility of another issue?

Ya true but if you have a buncj of bolts in a bunch of cases ur not gunna run around with torque wrench to dbl check you want visual aid

I see.

I am restoring my '85 ATC 250R back to riding condition and many of the parts will need to be media blasted and painted so I am looking for some input into paint as well. So far I have been thinking just hitting it with something like rattle can Krylon engine paint. If there is something more durable short of powder coating then I may go that route. Powder coating would cost too much for what I need.

If your going to cheap out on powder then use engine block enamel but thats not wat where talking about

Yeah I know it's not what you're looking for. I was curious to see if the stuff you're looking for could be used as a durable paint for things other then bolts. I figure it has to be fairly durable if it is used internally. Rattle can is ok... Powder coating makes no sense for my application. Would be a waste of money.

No just getting it running again so I can ride it. It is a blast in the sand and desert. I am powder coating the frame only, it should be done tomorrow.  If I was going to try and sell it and get top dollar I would go with powder coating on everything else as well but for tearing it up off road I just can't see doing it. I have seen them restored to showroom and they look great. They also fetch good $$$$ in that condition.

I bought it brand new 27 years ago but it has been sitting for 20+ years. Unfortunately a few of those years it was outside do to a lack of storage space. I paid $1900.00 brand new and the showroom ones were fetching $5000-$6000. Mine might be worth $3500 when I am done. Not going to sell it though. Might be the only thing my broken down body can ride in the not so distant future lol
