i race and i would like to know your answer!    only thing i can think of i will post after you answer... I'm not being facetious when i say please answer why...

Because the Suzuki has years of development with the same platform and the KTM doesn't. Dungey's first outdoor race on the Suzuki in 2010 was a big let down. The whole industry wondered if he had what it takes to win outdoors. They had a week off and did two weeks of testing then kicked everyone's ass at the next round. That's why I think both James and Ryan have more in them

Every new bike I have ever owned I needed to take some time and get it set up for me. And I'm slow

So now enlighten me with your take on it

When all the major players are healthy, he's not winning any championships regardless of the color of his bike. I just said he road it better than he's ridden any other bike. Who were his competitors when he did win? Exactly.

Reed had 3 Supercross wins on his Suzuki in 09 and has had 3 wins on the Honda over two seasons and both were against a stacked field of riders

The National title had a weak field but he won and stayed healthy throughout the year. Maybe he is faster on the Honda....not according to results....but it has totally kicked his ass in the process

You are obviously a Honda fan. If another manufacture produced a superior bike would you still stay red? To me brand loyalty is for NASCAR fans. I buy the brand that best fits me and the type of riding I will use it for

Just like McGrath and Langston who were forced to retire (the latter momentarily though) due to incessant injuries they sustained c/o the White Power KTM :ride: ....and even Alessi who was more of a mid-pack rider :p

If you wanna win MX and SX in the US, it being the most competitive theatre in the world, ride a Japanese bike GUARANTEED mate Cheers!

It was most entirely with the blue bike MEYERMETAL, as far as the US theatre is concerened ---- not bad for a bad handling bike, you reckon, at least what many pundits say so

2002 AMA East Coast Lites SX champion - YZ250F
2003 U.S Open Champion - YZ250
2003 FIM World Supercross Champion - YZ250
2004 U.S Open Champion - YZ250
2004 AMA Supercross Champion - YZ250
2007 King of Bercy Supercross Champion - YZ450F
2008 AMA/FIM World Supercross Champion - YZ450F
2009 Monster Energy Triple Crown MX Champion - RMZ450
2009 AMA National Motocross Champion - RMZ450

Now, how many vaunted and highly-publicised Orange Kool-Aid won BEFORE and AFTER the one-and-only tiddler title, 2003 AMA 125cc, by Grant Langston?

Didn't Grant win three more titles thereafter, but this time, twice on the so-called bad-handling blue bike and one on the green bike, all Japanese-engineered bicycles :ride:

You do realize none of those were on the new bike... He is the ONLY rider I have ever heard complain about the Yami. The only Yamaha the guy did like was the 250 smoker. He said the same thing about the Kawi and look what Poto was doing on it when healthy.

Same goes for James with the 10+ Yz. Lots of riders dont like certain characteristics about a certain color while others excel on them.

I guess I dont get your point.

I think that everyone has the opinion that it's the 2010+ Yami that sucks. Besides the post was about his new Honda and his one year on a Suzuki

All the bullshit "Championships" are in red. The FIM SX championships shouldn't even be in the record books. They are a joke

Oh, I love Honda, too, but how can you say with certainty that KTM will essentially be the end of Dungey and DeCoster?  It's preposterous, and I don't think you can predict the future based off of what happened in the past.  They couldn't be in a better position to win a championship.  Maybe not this year, but I think your "GUARANTY" isn't valid.

Just like McGrath and Langston who were forced to retire (the latter momentarily though) due to incessant injuries they sustained c/o the White Power KTM :ride: ....and even Alessi who was more of a mid-pack rider  Langston rode for both Kawasaki and Yamaha well after his KTM ride and he won a championship in 2007 so how did the KTM force him to retire? In 2007 Alessi was 2nd overall in the 450 class....KTM....so how is that mid-pack? And he just missed the 250 championship by a few points while on orange. He has never been the same since his big crash in 2008 and the injury in 2009 and this year the season has just begun so we will see how it turns out for him

If you wanna win MX and SX in the US, it being the most competitive theatre in the world, ride a Japanese bike GUARANTEED mate Cheers! Or you just hire competitive riders like KTM did in Europe. I seem to remember the Jap manufactures winning everything in Europe year after year until all the talent was hired away

See my responses in red. Like I said you don't really keep up with motocross do you.

BDubb, I only want to hear it from Meyermetal if he can account antything from his vaunted orange power as far as the US theatre of SX and MX is concerned, it being the most competitive arena the world over

Oh, by the way, "new" is relative, don't you think? ---- They were all new models in 2002, 2003, 2004.... 2012, don't you think mate? So, where's the new orange bike? :p

I really don't care if KTM wins anything. Like I said before brand loyalty is for NASCAR fans and I will add morons to that as well. I just want to see good racing and if that means having a Yamaha or Kawasaki up front I'm fine with it

Do you like NASCAR?

No question about a bike making a difference. No matter who it is.
Look at RV during last years outdoors. Jumped from a 2011 to a 2012 and it changed him....night and day.
McGrath did it. Reed did it.
If the shoe is uncomfortable - don't wear it.
If the bike is uncomfortable - don't ride it.

Even Rhino did not like the Yami in his return to Hang town.

David Vuillemin "I guess I was wrong, and maybe the bike (and the team?) wasn't made for him".

It obviously wasn't made for him. It's made for some "average rider" who doesn't actually exist. Same for all stock bikes.

DV doesn't admit errors easily. So he uses the word "maybe", and he doesn't explicitly say he was wrong for assuming James failed for 2 years because of mental or fitness reasons.

James hates that bike. Pure and simple.  I think the nail in it for James was when he hired Tim Ferry early this year to help him with setup, and Ferry just said he cannot work it out. Ferry said the YZF is a "very rider unfriendly bike".

for all of DV's thoughts: http://www.pulpmx.co...e-eyes-hangtown

Cheers!

I'm pretty sure Roczen and Dungey will prove this guy wrong soon.

His hatred of KTM must be from riding a shit one or something, guess he doesn't realise that nothing about a stock bike is anything similar to what those guys ride... No matter what brand. Even Honda.

If your saying that because he's close to retirement.......I agree

If your saying that because he went to a substandard manufacture.......They said that when he went to Suzuki

If your saying that because he's an ex racer and doesn't know what he's doing.....They said that when he took over American Honda

If your saying that because he is Roger DeCoster.....Then I say your just a bitter Aussie that's jealous of his superior moto knowledge

Why?  Give me one fact why.  Because they have chromoly frames?  Because they're not from Japan?  Because you keep making "White Power" references, suggesting they're racist?  WHAT IS YOUR DAMN POINT?

Have you ridden a KTM?  At 22 years old, are you a mechanical genius that spots a flaw that no one else has?  Have you ever been to an American motocross race?  Are you having fun taking the piss?
