I think that James deserved a some criticism for the way he rode... but a lot of stuff coming from some people was way out of line.   Some of it still is out of line.   A lot of it is out of line, especially when it spills over to discussions regarding his family and stuff like that.

But he deserves "reasonable" criticism for his riding the past two years.

If you take a look I think most of the posts were directed at his riding and his lack of focus. I saw very very few posts regarding his family other than when some dumb ass spit on his dad and even then most of the comments were that was out of line.

Well , maybe not most comments, just some I guess.  I was referring to the ones where people say he's under pressure because he's supporting his family and stuff like that.

That business of spitting on his dad and that time they were heckling his mom are when things certainly go too far.   I can't even begin to fathom that.

Nonetheless, James has proven to be a highly polarizing figure.   But, its safe to say that his image  and perceptions of him will improve if he can just start winning again.

He doesn't even have to win for his image to improve... All he has to do is show up and race, even if he loses if he continues to show up people will give him credit. In fact he will get even more respect from many of his true haters if he sticks it out and doesn't win than if he does win. Thing is James has a history of packing up and going home as soon as he doesn't think he can take the title. We will see if he has truly changed because he isn't going to win the title this season!

so your wiping away the not getting paid thing cuase he is getting sponsor bucks?  Would he not get that stuff sitting on the couch? And you dont think that they get paid much by teams huh?  His bank account would deff miss the $$$ zuki is paying him to ride!  At his level its close to million or more. He wouldnt feel that?   So reed isnt doing it on his own and we should start saying that?  He isnt getting paid by those people to ride outside.. He gets that anyways!  He lines up at hangtown he makes no more(unless he wins) he dont show up.. He makes the same... Thats what that statement is about... Not he is making 0 all season... Its he is making 0 more for doing it!

Thats what I was attempting to say... maybe I could have worded things a little better. I meant that the money he is missing for racing one outdoors series pales in comparrison to what he makes with from his sponsors. I never said he wouldnt be getting paid if he wasnt riding either. I guess what I was trying to say is that he's making money either way, and he gets to race so I doubt he cares (based off what he says in interviews).

Thats because the questions where about the Yamaha directly... he is not the first top guy to dislike the yz450. You forget what Reed said?

Reed said the same thing about the Kaw.

To my knowledge, that only happened once.

I didn't understand why he showed up, but I completely understood why he went home.   Outdoors is not where the bread is buttered.   He wanted a chance to be on the MXDN team.   He found out that wasn't going to happen.  So why continue? The team manager didn't want to be there either.

Do I remember this correctly?  Was there another time?

He wasnt riding for JGR anymore... and likely working on finalizing the Yosh. Zuke deal. Sounds legit to me but what do I know?

No matter how it gets spun the fact is that he quit the team

I think both parties are better off but you can't deny what happened

You can spin it however you want but the FACT is they had a mutual agreement to not work together anymore.  you can't deny that or you will be calling ALL parties involved liars and I will go with what they say moreso than anything you could possibly say.

I agree, not trying to twist what happened. I just think its a legitimate reason not to show up, no team along with the broken hand. It was as good a time as any to work the deal since you were missing a few rounds anyways. Unlike not racing the rounds you told all the fans you were going to, like you had any chance of making the MXoN team in the first place (I know I wouldnt want a guy who wasnt even running a MX series on my team). Esp if he comes out and finishes well on the Zuke.

i like how some just skimmed over the article and didnt read the entire thing, then go and rant about JS7. We're all quick to forget that this same guy won 24/24 motos in 2008 and was as good if not better than the GOAT. He was contracted to ride a bike he didnt feel comfortable on and when he signed with JGR Yamaha, they told him they could try to fix the bike. Then he decides that the bike is no more comfortable for him as his L&M bike. He did not once rant on the yamaha or either of the teams. He brought wins to both teams too. He isnt racing for money this summer either

But yet he never beat RC? Im a huge JS7 fan, but would never stoop so low as to say he was better than the GOAT, EVER!

Comments like these make me realize why people love to hate on the guy! Prepare to be stoned for that comment!

How about this? They both quit

Regardless of how it was finalized one party had to start the dialog

And I like that you did a little trimming of the quote and left out that ridicules comment about him being better than the GOAT

Spin it however you like but you don't "quit" a 3 year contract.  He told them he didn't want to ride Yamahas and Coy said they would be on Suzukis, when that didn't happen he was told they would fix the Yamaha.  They didn't.  They parted.  I know that you will think the worse of JS no matter so it is what it is.

quit or quit·ted, quit·ting, adjective
verb (used with object)
1. to stop, cease, or discontinue: She quit what she was doing to help me paint the house.
2. to depart from; leave (a place or person): They quit the city for the seashore every summer.
3. to give up or resign; let go; relinquish: He quit his claim to the throne. She quit her job.
4. to release one's hold of (something grasped).
5. to acquit or conduct (oneself).

I'm actually glad he quit and have posted my thoughts on it many times. I want to see good racing and James sucked on the new Yamaha. I hope the Suzuki fixes that

I think it's kind of funny that JGR jumped at the 3 year deal Yamaha offered when they could have gone yellow. They wanted long term and they got it. If James does well on the Suzuki JGR is going to have a rough time signing a top rider for the next couple of years. What are the odds that JGR has another brand under their tent next year?

Thanks for the definition, I never would have known what it meant.  Didn't you say earlier that they both quit?  Oh that's right you did.  I understand you can't even remember what bs you spew.  JGR will have no problem getting a rider...you really think there are that many good rides out there that 2nd tier guys won't jump on it?  Top rider?  Who is available?  Odds are low they would sign another brand.

JGR doesn't want a 2nd tier rider they want a championship. RV will be available in a few months and I doubt he would consider riding the Yamaha. JGR wanted Dungey and they knew if they wanted a shot at him they need a different bike....Like a yellow one

In the world of business you are either fired or you quit. Mutual understandings are only BS propaganda for one or both parties to save face but you can call it whatever you want if it makes you feel better
