Very refreshing read...  Good to hear James'/Bubba's side.  Pretty much dispelled all of the rumors/opinions/hear say going on in the moto world and here on TS PR forum.

Seems pretty clear to me he still loves the sport and wants to race.

I am genuinely impressed, especially by the fact that he is riding for free for the outdoors this year.  I suspect his conditioning may not be where it needs to but he also is missing a lot of competition.  I think he and Dungey will trade victories once James get's back up to speed.

He definitely scored some points with me in that interview.  I can't wait for Saturday.

It is funny that when Reed went out on his "own" (we all know he was getting help from various places) people applauded him.  When JS does it they make it sound like it's no big deal because he is already making millions.  Reed said years ago that he makes more off of investments than he does racing.

I personally am not terribly worried about his conditioning.  Assuming he's not where he needs to be... he will get there soon enough.  He's a pro and has been there many, many times before.  He knows what's required and he just has to knock the 4 year old rust off.   I will give him three weeks and it won't be an issue.

So... is it safe to say that the racers who don't do it for the money get some extra "respect" from the fans?   then we should be luvin a lot of those lites guys that are at the end of the gate.  They are lucky to get lunch.

Going back to the original thread, I was impressed with how James answered the questions about JGR and the Yamaha (and I'm not a JS7 fan).  He didn't fully bash the bike, he just said it wasn't for him; I can buy that.  I bet if we opened a poll about which is the best 450, we would get 50 different answers; it's goes back to riding style, personal preference.  I don't think the new YZ450 is bad, it just doesn't seem to fit those that ride over the front wheel.  The GNCC guys are killing it on them, so apparently, they're good for offroad.  Anyway, it will be nice to see JS7 line up for MX; like him, hate him, or don't care, he will bring some excitement to the races.

Funny thing is... before I got my KTM 450 for racing, I seriously considered that yz450f for desert racing. The fact that James and the new YZ don't get along doesn't change my opinion of the bike.  The fact that James looks more comfortable on the Suzuki doesn't change my opinion of that bike either.   At my level, I could be racing any color bike... or even just loading my bike on to the trailer...  I'm going to be on the ground!
