who finds the new site bloated, slow and hopelessly lethargic?  I know this probably isn't the right place to post this, but this is where I hang out and where the people I know hang out.  I've waited a couple of months to see if things would smooth out, but they haven't.  At least not for me.  It's painful to log in and surf TT and I generally like to avoid painful things...

What I DO like to do is go fast.  In my car, on my bikes, on the internet.  And TTalk is about the worst I've seen in recent memory.

I've adapted emotionally to the new layout and actually  really like it, but even on my hyper-fast broadband and state of the art computer, the lag is almost unbearable for me when it's loading and even when scrolling up and down a thread that's fully opened.

It's far more lethargic and wallowing compared to almost every other site I frequent, and significantly slower than the old TTalk (I'd guess a good 40+ % slower).  Of course most of the other sites aren't trying to cram every corner with unrelated Google advertising......

Just had to share,,,,,,

Am I the only one?

+1 mine is slow too on my PC...but really fast on my cell phone...go figure! I usually only go on TT with my phone now but posting is a pain and I can't see everything with the phone so either way it sucks! Oh and since I am complaining my  post follow emails are a mess and don't work as they should and I have set them up but I get replies on posts I say don't follow and I don't get emails on posts I do want to follow...

Fast for me.

You should see if anyone else in your area with same ISP has trouble as well. Wonder if your ISP is giving you a bad route.

Weird.  For YEARS the old TT format was fast.  Now with the new format it was instantly slow.  All other websites / forums I frequent remained the same.  They are similar in speed to the older TT forum - ie: what I would consider fast.  The new TT forum - very slow.

Strange.....

PS - Mac OSX Safari mostly, although Firefox is equally slow.  8 core Macs w/ 16G Ram and ultrafast broadband.  Generally my connection is around 25Mbps download and 4Mbps upload.  I do tons of FTP transfers in the Gb range and never have issues.  Fast like me on my motorscooter...... :applause:   then as soon as I hit TTalk, I'm back slower than a NorCal trailrider in the Desert.  :) :lame: :banghead:  :ride:

Right. I thought I was alone on this too. Nobody talking about it..

In the past month or so TT has been very slow for me, both at home (lousy laptop) and at work (screamer). The speed didn't taper off - it hit a molasses wall. Too many ads, maybe?

It's so bad that if it weren't for the content, I'd never be back. I just hit the most important stuff now, instead of just browsing around for the fun of it. :banghead:

That's what I think.  With the new format it was like a lightswitch got flipped and TT went into hyper-molasses mode.  :banghead:

For me TT loads the same as the old format.

mine by the most part loads quickly, however, that stupid advertisement thread atop the posts delays ever so slightly where I accidentally select it instead of the one I want. I'm not gonna buy the crap and not gonna read it.it just slows me down from going where I want. lol

Not sure what's wrong with your junk, but mine seems faster than the old TT.

My "junk" is fine.  State of the art, high end, and works perfectly on every OTHER website than TT.

Maybe it's just trying to tell me something.....

Come on man, it was a joke.  I've ridden the sierra's too.  So how is your connection to TT as of late - since the changeover....

No complaints here. Fast at both work and home.

Is there anything in particular that takes time to load? Pics, ads..? Or just the whole page?

btw, I was a bit worried that I was going to read....

Am I the only one....

.....who comes home, jumps in the bath tub, slathers myself in peanut butter, shoves a purple jelly bean in his navel and listens to Celine Dion while eating chicken wings?

So I am glad that wasn't the post.

I know it is a joke, myt attempt was to acknowledge that.

I still think you guys would trip on Stoney and little Stoney.

Slow and I still would bring the camera.

It is slower for me but not enough to make a difference most of the time. I do object to things that just don't work...  like clicking on the most recent post ONLY gets me to the most recent page.  Not the last post.   The editor tosses formatting OUT the window if you change from Simple to Enhanced editing.  This makes a mess of your post if you try to edit it after posting.  You STILL cannot click on SOUTHERN CA and get a proper sorting of the posts.  It's simply is usless...  so I have to live with all the other CA forums.  I have never understood why we need the mess of a sub divided region.  Why not just make 3 regions for the 3 CA sections.  Some kid in Indiana named James seems to be able to update and upgrade his site parallel with TT happenings and not have all these issues.  Don't understand it myself.
