hey guys so i just sold my 2006 crf250r a few months ago for 3000.. anyways i loved the bike but maybe i just had a lemon.... had it for under a year. right after i bought it i had to do a full engine rebuild, then a crank seal went bad, then my clutch went bad, then my rings went bad, then my crank seal went bad again....and that was all with only getting about 35 hours worth of riding time on it... anyways i was considering getting a 450  but just found a deal on a 2008 crf250r with under 10 hours TOTAL on it.... the bike is bone stock except for pro billit spark arrestors and it has been in storage for the last 3 years.. its got like 95% of tred on the original tires, no seat wear, no clutch cover wear, no ignition cover wear, and the guy is even fine with meeting at a dealer to have it checked out if i pay.. and he needs cash quick and will sell it to me for $2350.... i know this is a killer deal so do you guys think i should go for it? or hold off and get a 450?   im 17 years old, 150 pounds, and 6'1.. and i will be riding 85 %mx with the bike. let me know what you guys think. thanks

Sounds like a good deal, but make sure you do the usual used bike checks even if it seems super clean.

That's a good price.  If as described then you should go for it.  As decribed, it's worth $3k or so.

ya he was even willing to meet at a dealership so i could have them take a look at it..   but also i just wanted to ask you guys.. i know this has been asked on here before.. but what would the maintaince on this bike be like if i start racing? not holding the rev limiter all the time or anything like that.. but will hit it every once in a while on the track. and im good with maintaince.. how long should i go on the bottom end safely? without risking getting a rod through the case?  i was reading to replace the bottom end every 60-80 hours! just wondering if thats true... seems pretty often. considering i pry put a good 100 hours on a year
