Dietrich can't even keep his shit together long enough to stay in the EWC. He packed up and came back to the States citing personal reasons. How could he possibly hold it together for AMA Nationals?

I'm sure that they didn't go through the homologation process. Not sure if it cost anything but if the AMA is involved you know it does

I read that the GNCC pulled away from the AMA. They decided that they didn't need them in order to run their series. If you look at the top of the page in my link you won't see any off road series other than Motocross and ATV's

I'm a bit confused by the "approved machines" list... This IS the year 2012 right?

Motorcycles MX/SX Lites Motocross/Supercross
Yamaha 2006-2009 YZ 125 2006-2010 YZ 250
Yamaha 2006-2011 YZ 250F* 2006-2011 YZ 450F
So they're only approved to run last years bikes? Suzuki and Honda also say "2011". I see they take the other 2 strokes and chop them off at the knees as well, mainly in the lights class, but I would like to see that KTM 250SX line up!

All the bikes on the list can enter the AMA nationals
its only the supercross thats limited to the bikes with a *

I wonder if it's because those models didn't have any significant changes for 2012 so they didn't need to go through the approval process. The race team can run 2011 spec frames and engine cases without loosing any advantage

So if I wanted to race a TC449, as a privateer and the "manufacturer" didn't have 400 of these bikes on the show room floors, I couldn't race, even if it was as 2012 model?
And to meyermetal..I thought you needed an AMA membership card to race gncc's??
