12-53 is f'ing ridiculous, but, i have never tried it so it might not be horrible

I was going to go with a 13-50 but then I ordered an 18" Warp 9 rear wheel and it came with a 48 tooth sprocket. The 13-48 isn't bad with the 18" rear wheel. The outside diameter of the tires on my 19" wheel is larger than that of the 18" wheel so the 13-48 would be too tall for anything but wide open high speed stuff. I still think the 13-50 would be the best combination for the 19" rear wheel. A 13-53 would be rediculously low for the kind of riding I do.

Where i ride there is a lot of loose sand, even the single track is like beach sand. So anything higher than 13-50 and your going to be in trouble

Where I ride it has a little bit of every thing from single track to loose rocks to sand just about everything and I haven't had any issues with shifting a lot or loosing traction I feel the 12 53 is not bad at all

ok well i bet you would have a hard time racing with that ratio especially when the trails start to open up.

It's not to bad with that ratio it will still keep up with my buddy's bike when we get onto some of the open stuff
