so i noticed now that i am carrying more speed in the woods , would a 14t help give 2nd and 3rd more range

i had 13-50 then went to 14-50 and it sucked, way way too much clutch work needed and too hard to start off it tight spaces, maybe go to a 49 rear if you want a little more speed but its still a close ratio motocross transmission

you could try a 14t if you want to, they're cheap, but i didnt like it at all, its a lot more work in the tight stuff

I run 14-53 in the woods and its a great ratio for me. Its pretty much the same as a 13-49 I think. The only thing that sucks is that my chain is chewing through the chain guide because of such a large rear sprocket. My next set will be 13-49.

IMO 14/50 isnt gonna work very good in the woods. thats equivelent to ~13/46. i run 14/51 for "high speed" desert, and swap to a 13 front for trails. like stated, its a motocross geared tranny. i say shift more

I run stock gearing on my CR (13/49) and I could really benefit from adding at least one more tooth on the rear(for trails). I don't have to use the clutch too much, it works, but It has to be pretty open for me to get out of second or third.

As I understand it, this is the ticket and paired with Iron Man sprockets.

13/50 is stock.
Adding 1 tooth on the front = 3.5 smaller on the rear.
If it were me I'd be thinking about 14/51 or 52, you will pull the gear longer, save your SA buffer from wearing as quickly and get better rear suspension action. The larger sprocket makes it work better as the SA doesn't come into play as quickly.
orings work fine, that's all I have ever run and I've never had issues with them rubbing. Been running RK's lately as that's what I've had kicking around. Other chains work too. A tiny groove (worst case senario) in the case will not slow you down but I have yet to see it on my CR250's.

To me, the CR250 first gear internal ratio is too tall hence my 12/50 gearing. All I ride is tight woods and I like it!

this is like what i ride ! ( no this is not me or my bike, credit to J-Day racing, this is not my video)
I want to be able to come out of a corner in 2nd and not have it wind out so fast to get more traction

What rear chain guards are people running with larger sprockets? Mine is getting eaten by the chain even with a 50T sprocket.

I ride mostly desert and single track and I have the 12 53 set up as well tons of pull through all the gears
