Looking to get some info on this little project of mine that has went from $180 to well in the thousands and not even close to done and whats worst is, I've done all this once already.

In Dec. I came across a (what I thought at the time ) sweet deal $180 for an 02 SX50 Pro Jr. L/C
My daughter already had a CRF50 +1 extended frame BBR swingarm and SDG upside down forks W/110cc motor and it just didnt fit her was too heavy so I bought the KTM and got ebay and ordered parts as I pulled and inspected everything before it was over $1000 later and the day before Christmas I had It running. Now maybe 10hrs on the bike it started missing at high RPM cuts out before the powerband, leaking water out the waterpump and the head(3rd water pump 2nd head) both front and back shocks leaking, swingarm bushing long story short I need help she has only till the end of the year to ride this bike in her class

are you using OEM parts? i would only use OEM parts, these chinese knock offs will only set you up for disaster.

the water pump has a few seals, make sure they are in correctly. the head should have o-rings that seal the head to cylinder. check and make sure these are in the grooves.

if the bike is cutting out, check the stator and coil. often as they heat up they will miss more. you may need a new one or of each.

the front forks may need new seals and dust boots. the rear you will need to give to an suspension guy to rebuild.

honestly, you would be better off selling as parts and getting a 09+ SX50.  a much better design and you will save money messing with the clutch.

when you buy used, you are buying others used problems. i hope you are able to cut your losses and find a better bike.

best of luck either way, i am glad we are off the 50s.

Martin and Slater I believe not OEM but I was told just as good. I'm having Six12 do the fork and shock and  just recieved the KTM stator, flywheel, and coil today,I also took a hone to the stock cylinder and some 1000 grit paper to the head with some new top o-rings so the leak up top is fixed.........

Yes, bring on the 65 w/Recluse clutch

once you get off those 50s you will be a lot happier. i started my boy at 6 on the 65 just to cut my losses on those ktm 50s.

M&S is hit and miss. if you get set up with a good local KTM shop and get some rider support you will be able to save money on parts.
