i feel good about doing it my self. all i plan on doing is getting the all balls rear shock seal kit, change out the seals, clean it up and put new oil in. i don't plan on going into the stack or piston (that i know of) i think if i take my time and take pictures etc i can do it just like i did with my engine. (i did both bottom and top end rebuild all from the book and it started in 3 kicks and have no problems for a season now)

i would love to have someone help me but there is no one that i know of and i dont have the money for parts plus the labor.

Peezy, I am proud of you and your "spirit"!  I have been in your position and circumstances and understand your desire to do the work yourself. But, I do not understand why you continue to state that you are "alone". The best part of the dirt bike or any motorcycling experience is that there are many great friends to be found and they are almost always willing to do anything to help. You mentioned your last ride was in the desert, I will bet there was someone in the staging/parking area  with you. Say hello and get to know your fellow riders. They are your best resource and may even become lifelong riding friends. And many will be very technically knowledgeable and willing to help. Forks are pretty much simple, a shock can present obstacles that require some expertise. Don't be too proud to ask for help.

thanks for that. I do appreciate it. I just had been told i can't do things and never had someone here to teach me anything. (i live with my mom and sis only) so that's why i always say i don't need help. What i am going to do is give it a try by myself and ask help on here when i run into small problems and call some local shops that might be helpful with out charging me. once i get back out there riding i will for sure hit up some races and riding groups and meet new people. After i do my shock i will be doing my forks i think. thanks again!!!

i got my shock apart. the oil is really black, and there was like under 50psi of nitrogen in the shock. waiting for the seal kit to get here, replace seals etc. put new oil and new nitrogen in. Hope it will ride way smoother now
