Can the shock spring be removed on TTR 50

Can the stock shock spring be removed on the ttr 50? If so could someone please tell me how it is done. I have found directions for the CRF shock, however they are not the same. There is no nut under the bottom stop.

You probably need to compress the spring and then slide a retaining plate from between the "skinny end" eye and spring.
